Just had a text message from my mum saying: 'I would like to think that you watched 'Brat Camp' and saw how you have been to me' Am devasted. Thought we'd sorted things out, and now she sends that to me. I'm not perfect but I wasn't that bad... now I can't stop crying. I replied asking her 'What do you mean? Please explain' and she's ignoring me... becx :-(

maybe she was joking, sweetie, maybe she is actually realising she was luckier than some Jess xx

Bec honey, none of us were perfect as teenagers ( the word teenager translates as alien species) and im sure you were no worse than anybody else. I hope youre mum was joking and you can sort things out.

I am sure she didnt mean it....you could not have been as bad as me, i was THE child from hell....apparently..i deny everything!!! Dont cry or i will start again!

Just altered the text message as I found exactly what she put. Doesn't seem like a joke to me :-( I wasn't awful, yes I was silly but I was a teenager :-( becx

Thanks Glenys I texted her and said 'Was that a joke? If it was then it wasn't funny. I am really upset now. Bec' I give up now. In the past I've bitten my tongue and forgiven her for all sorts but it's beyond me now. I may have been a naughty teenager but she's been far from a perfect mum. Thank you everyone for your replies, nice to know that even though I'm alone I'm not completely alone. becx

Bec Hi honey Please don't take any notice, Mums have bad days and say stupid things, i am sure your Mum was having a bad day as well. Unfortunatley being older doesn't make us any wiser at times. Having read your messages in the past and meeting you on saturday i can say i would be proud of you if you were my daughter. Send your Mum a message of love and i am sure she will be sorry for her comment. Yvette

bec us parent's say some awful things sometimes and when we stop and think about it we are sorry but don't always say it thats parents for you one day when you are older you will know what i mean i am not making excuses for your mam wait until tomorrow and then talk to her good luck howard

Thanks Emma and Howard Also thanks Yvette... your words made me cry again! but for a good reason this time! I assume she's drunk a bottle of wine, is sitting on her own and feeling resentful... doesn't make it right though. Sometimes I feel like I'm the adult and she's the child! becx

In fact, thinking about it Bec, I say some horrible things to our two kids sometimes. But when I've thought it over, I then apologise if it warrants it - then they can see I'm human, rather than a bad-tempered mother as they sometimes see me! I sincerely hope this is the case with your Mum. Glenys x
