My friend who is also my neighbour has just rang me to say we have a pheasant in our back garden. It`s very beautiful and big! Wonder what attracted it to our garden! I`m quite worried about it though as foxes are always running around the estate. Will the Pheasant be ok? I mean, would it just fly away(Can it fly? Don`t know much about birds) Kerry x

Have just looked again and he is still wondering around pecking at the apples on the ground(the apples chris was meant to pick up when he mowed the grass lol) Our neighbour wants Pheasant pie(she`s a scottish woman and wouldn`t want to stand in here way lol) xxxxx

They seem to spend most of their time walking around - but can fly. From what i have seen, they usually only take flight when scared - and make a heck of a noise when they are doing it. lol I have heard one around here over the last week, but not sighted it yet - maybe its because its spring and they are wandering further afield looking for a mate? I recently moved to Norfolk and have never seen so many pheasants before! They are all over the place. lol

Actually braved going out in the garden but peeked around the shed to get the photo. Had images of it getting scared and attacking me! Had to use camera phone as our digi cam needs new batteries. Wish I could upload it, but can`t LOL

Thats a long time!! i wonder whether perhaps he may be winded then... could have been grazed by a car or something. perhaps its best not to disturb him then, give him time to come round?

HI Kerry, we live in the middle of nowhere, and have the things all over :) they usually start about six in the morning. I can see two males in the field now. They usually just fly away when they have had enough. We feed them wild bird seed.( When the partner has gone to work ) as he doesn't like them in the garden.,

Theres nothing wrong with your Pheasant he is stakeing out his display area this could take sevral hours untill he desides wether its a good or bad site, You do not have lots of femails in your area do you (look like him but brown all over) if he finds a lack of them he will head off for pastuers new and better S*X
