Its just that it takes so long to colour the roots lol and I never do anything with it i.e. put it up curl etc, I am considering a short feathered cut absolutely no perm. xxhugxx |

I don't think it matters what age you are lindy, it just depends what suits a person better, whether it be long or short. Luv JoJo xx |

Seriously Lindy, 2 yrs ago i had my very long hair (to my bottom) cut to just below my shoulders. So much easier to look after and more flattering (for me). Go ahead it will look great. Wendy. |

I think that you should just do what ever you want. There does`nt seem to be any real hard and fast rules these days. I have never been able to have long hair as mine is fairly curly and I envy those who do have it. Sometimes a completely different look can make you feel so much better. What ever you decide on I hope it makes you feel GREAT. Love and Peace Marianne. xxxx |

When My Jean asked me how i felt if she had her waist length hair cut, i thought about it and said 'as long as its cut off in one piece, ok'..........we still have an 18 inch light brown plait.. and now she has grey hair you can see the difference!! |

Do what pleases you. I have dark, long hair and will be 50 in 2 weeks.Luckily i don't have to colour it and will be too lazy anyway.Your hair, do what suits you. |

I had very long hair until 2 months ago ... then I let a trendy hairdresser give me a choppy, trendy hair cut ... and I love it. At the time I came away thinking that it looked great but that I'd probably wash it and end up with it looking like the child in the advert 'some eejit has cut my niece's hair ...!' I think it's the best thing I've ever done - more confident and look and feel younger too! Whatever you decide, though, has to be right for you! So just do what you feel is the right thing. S:> |

Hi Lindy, I had my waist length hair chopped before I started teaching at age 22. Never regretted it for a second. Gwynne |

Hi Lindy - twin here! (Remember?!) I've nearly always had fairly long hair, and late last year I asked my hairdresser to cut it as short as I could get away with, as I'm 48 now and thought the same as you. It's now layered and not quite shoulder length, but Bob says it doesn't look short - he agrees that we shouldn't conform, just have our hair as we want it (within reason, lol). What do you WANT to do with it? Glenys x |
