Drug taking is a crime and crime affects all of the society be it directly or indirectly. If a high profile figure is caught then they should be made an example or society shall start think (which is already happening with cannabis) that taking drugs is fine and dandy. I see what your saying, but I don't have any time for criminals, and that's what she could well be, Frankly it's tough luck.

I don't feel the same about crime and the law. I disagree with some laws and I think there are levels of crime. That aside, it isn't the place of the tabloids to catch people breaking the law in order to sell newspapers.

High profile figures need the media to survive. They can't use it to suit themselves when they feel like it.

But some sections of the media need celebrities to survive

David - I think they did eventually try it and nothing happened! lol I don't think banana skins were the only thing they tried either - heard them mention lots of silly things. They are both a fair bit older than I am, so I was never involved in any of it. I would say 'Stick to your fags', but the bananas are probably less harmful? lol Kaye x

That's true, but it doesn't make her supposed actions any better.

I'm not disagreeing with that Daniel. What I'm complaining about is the hypocrisy and the hand wringing. True Ruby:) Are you sure Kaye? Hasn't there been a cancer scare about bananas yet? lol. I'm reliably informed by a GR member that bananas don't do the trick. I've also been eble to offer her a tip though as to what does;))

Do you know David I don't give a stuff about Kate Moss and what she gets up to! lol Like Strump I don't buy newspapers either. They're full of s**t! Pardon my language but they do make my blood boil! lol. I aren't interested in the lives of so called celebrities as it isn't going to have any effect whatsoever on the average person in the street. If I want to know what's happening in the world - the important things - then I watch the news. These are the things that are more likely to effect people like you and me. And while we're on the subject of newpapers, I don't like the way they tell you what to think either. They brainwash the people out there who haven't got the savvy to think for themselves. Sorry for ranting David! lol. Must be me hormones! lolol Jeanette x

Debby Report 21 Sep 2005 21:30

David I'm not sure what you're getting at here? As a model, she's a 'celebrity' so therefore in the public eye? Why shouldn't they report it? Debby

Newspapers ( whichever ones ) are a godsend to our troops overseas , they might be full of 'shit' but at least they can read the so called 'shit' in English two months later and experience what is going on back home

Rant away Jeanette:)) I agree with you. This is half of why I get so pissed off because I wonder if the papers think we all believe what we're being told to! But I have to get my paper for the horoscope pmsl. I might make a stand and stop buying though. Hi Debby The papers have been reporting it in a 'isn't this terrible? isn't she bad?' fashion. They don't give a flying flap about her (anymore than I do) or her poor kid - they're reporting it to sell papers, they're going out looking for dirt on someone and are then saying they are doing it for the british public. It stinks. You're nice to worry about them Sandra:) I don't cos they are making their own choices and have such a lot of advantages others don't. I'm off now. Nite nite:)

Jeanette, you put it so well, and I agree! David, can't you get your horoscope on the Internet, or I'll do you one for a fiver, lol!

Pat

Pat Report 21 Sep 2005 23:05

LOL Jen Hi mate, you must do more reading on here than I thought you did to pre:-))) Hi David :-) If I had my way I wouldn't call those dirt rags newspapers, I would take them all and put them together under the heading of gossip papers. People do have a choice in buying Newspapers but the trouble is Newspapers report the News, they don't have pages of nothingness, they don't have naked or celebrity nonsense they have World News, Home News and things that matter to all. If people hadn't made the Sun (the mother of all tabloid dirt rags) and The mirror (only trotting behind it) two of the most bought (I bet not most read) rags we wouldn't be in this position today as they would have been history. I never buy a daily newspaper unless I am travelling I search for any quality paper to read. I buy a Saturday Paper The Independent and a Sunday Paper the Sunday Times and thats it. I care nothing of celebrities half of them I don't recognise or even know the names of anyway. The only time its relevant for us to know they take drugs is if they are busted for it otherwise I don't give a wotsit what they do far too many other things of more importance. Pat x

Pat don't start me off on the Sun! Oh it's too late I can't help myself! lol What kind of mindless moron buys and reads that load of toilet paper? Well that's it really isn't it? Mindless morons. People who can't manage something a bit moe challenging. And the worrying thing is .......... oh heck I think I'd better stop now before I'm hung, drawn and quartered! lol And before anyone has a go at me, my hubby and Mum both read the Sun and I give them a severe dressing down when I see them reading it! lol. But I still love 'em!
