Our school motto is 'semper sursum'. According to my school's website it means something like 'ever striving'. :-)

Val - you are excused then. Thr only army brats (a brother and sister) I know were sent to boarding school while both their parents were on active service in Hong Kong. The kids spent half term with their grandmother and summers in Hong Kong, not too sure where they went at christmas and easter though.

Viv, our school's song was Non Nobis too but I can't remember our motto. Ours was the first co-ed grammar school in Norwich, opened in 1958.
