I have a Lafayette, born in the USA in 1839. My most uncommon actually has to be Dorcas as I haven't any at all LOL [OH has one].

I've just remembered another - IGI has it transcribed as Alustay but its Elestay on her tombstone (born 1788) (from Northumberland in case you were wondering)

100 years from now, they will have no problem finding me with a name like GERALDINE! How on earth can you look at a tiny little new born and call it GERALDINE? Maybe I was unwanted? lol...all together now....Awwww! Actually i quite like it now I'm 57 but hated it as a kid. Gerri/Geraldine/ Dena/ Geza/even answers to food offering....

Just to be different from you lot, I have Huia Tui Riro Tiora. Myself and my sisters. Only the last is uncommon in NZ. Looking at the British b reg index I once saw an Enough. Cant you just picture a woman with dozens of children sayins 'that is ENOUGH' although I suspect it was an alternative spelling for Enoch.

Hi I am like Rebecca C and I have a Zillah for a female. I also have an Algynon for a male, not sure how uncommon that is but he is the only person I know of with that name, he was my Pop and everyone used to call him Algy. Cheers

I've got several generations of Melancthon in my tree - named after Phillip Melancthon a contemporary of Martin Luther, but I've got no idea why!
