The thing I miss most is the wonderful smell from the chocolate factory in Norwich. It was a couple of miles from my home but if the wind was in the right direction you could tell what they were making,sometimes Caramac for instance. One of our neighbours used to work there when I was small, so plenty of 'Caley's waste' - probably swept up off the floor but I didn't know and it tasted just as good. It used to be Caleys, then Rowntree Mackintosh, and then Nestle, but was closed down a few years ago and over the past couple of years the factory has gone and a new shopping centre and housing opened up - Chapelfied. Can recall most of those sweets you have mentioned and am now trying to think if I have anything yummy stashed away. Liz |
