I really don't think anyone in or out of prison has the right to take it upon themselves to harm another person be they convicts or vigilantes.

I think there are many people who are social inadequates but its not a term I would use for paedophiles who are very clever and determined to achieve their aims.

Educating the masses is the way forward in my opinion and strengthening women to enable them to care for their children singlehandedly rather than feel the need to bring into their homes males who they know little about.

When referring to males, I am of course aware that females can be involved too.

Fully agree, Vera. I was just stating what tends to happen in prison.

As a single parent (through divorce) I've come to realise many women are unable to live alone with their children. I did, thooughly enjoyed it - but was financially at a gross disadvantage, and was thought of as something of an oddity!!!

edit - I'm now a 'mad lady' with cats!!!

Maggie

I too brought up (one child only) singlehandedly and always managed emotionally and financially although a few of those extera K's on the salary would not have gone amiss.

Sadly not all women are the same and it must be very difficult for very young women with no family support not to look for it elsewhere. Mostly there are no problems but sometimes the mother's needs outweigh those of the children

I too am now a 'mad lady' but sadly no cats.

I think slightly off topic although I take on board what you are claiming. Again, off topic, I do get a bit sick and tired of comments that make out it is always the woman that is hard done by. Just my thoughts that's all.

I had a feeling when I posted mine that someone would feel there was some bias towards the woman. It was not my point to portray the women being hard done by but that the children sometimes suffered when their mother brought into the family a male who the mother may know little about.

I am a firm believer that in cases of divorce and custody of children, some men can get a very raw deal.
