I had a feeling when I posted mine that someone would feel there was some bias towards the woman. It was not my point to portray the women being hard done by but that the children sometimes suffered when their mother brought into the family a male who the mother may know little about.

I am a firm believer that in cases of divorce and custody of children, some men can get a very raw deal.

I think slightly off topic although I take on board what you are claiming. Again, off topic, I do get a bit sick and tired of comments that make out it is always the woman that is hard done by. Just my thoughts that's all.

Maggie

I too brought up (one child only) singlehandedly and always managed emotionally and financially although a few of those extera K's on the salary would not have gone amiss.

Sadly not all women are the same and it must be very difficult for very young women with no family support not to look for it elsewhere. Mostly there are no problems but sometimes the mother's needs outweigh those of the children

I too am now a 'mad lady' but sadly no cats.

Fully agree, Vera. I was just stating what tends to happen in prison.

As a single parent (through divorce) I've come to realise many women are unable to live alone with their children. I did, thooughly enjoyed it - but was financially at a gross disadvantage, and was thought of as something of an oddity!!!

edit - I'm now a 'mad lady' with cats!!!

I really don't think anyone in or out of prison has the right to take it upon themselves to harm another person be they convicts or vigilantes.

I think there are many people who are social inadequates but its not a term I would use for paedophiles who are very clever and determined to achieve their aims.

Educating the masses is the way forward in my opinion and strengthening women to enable them to care for their children singlehandedly rather than feel the need to bring into their homes males who they know little about.

When referring to males, I am of course aware that females can be involved too.

maggiewinchester Report 19 Jul 2012 00:36

That's why I referred to them a social inadequates.

A rapist or murderer is in no way 'superior' - but hurting children seems to be a 'no-no', in prison, even amongst these people.

Vera2010 Report 19 Jul 2012 00:17

As some one once said on the tele recently it is as it ever was and probably always will be. Only good thing now we have parents, who when it comes to their children being abused by clerics, are now no longer afeared of reporting them.

There are some very dangerous people out there who will find ways of abusing children and parents and the public in general have to be aware of the signs which I think a lot of people now are.

I haven't read the thread because the pattern is always the same. Put him/her in prison but I would drawer the line at handing them to the dogs inside. To think you're superior because you have raped or murdered someone is a bit skewed in my opinion.

...makes you wonder why there are so many social inadequates, and what makes them so....

edit: The reason I think this is, we al know that, when in prison, with 'hardened' criminals - ie gun toting bank robbers etc, the paedo has a rough time. Even amongst those who are considered our 'worst' - abusing children isn't accepted.

Silly Sausage Report 18 Jul 2012 23:32

This is why people hardly post or add to the debates or to any threads on here now adays, for fear of been picked up or mocked for their grammar, one of the reasons I hardly post as the same thing happened me just the other week, its very hurtful you know....and on that note I am off to bed to read my picture book.

A PRIEST yes...not a teacher or social worker or dustman.

I don't think they were jumped on - just intelligent dfiscourse and discussion - the point if you missed it was a priest in France - that was the point of the thread - so surely I was not bringing religion in, I was commenting on fact.
But truly sorry if you took it the wrong way and misunderstood.
Read the original point!

Maybe if you didn't want to bring religion into it you could've found 150 other examples.

scuse me for reading it as it was presented :-S

Anyhow that's my lot for tonight...early start tomorrow.....but seeing the way my on topic comments were jumped on makes me understand why folk are reluctant to post these days.

Not me. I'll be back..in the words of Arnie lolololol

absolutely Sue could not agree more

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 18 Jul 2012 22:57

That is the point Errol - the fact that it happens. It is dreadful to think that many paedophiles get into positions where they have constant access to children - and often children whose parents are either very trusting or in some cases negligent. These people are predators and often very good at covering up their detestable crimes.
