Very cold Chardonnay madam - notice that I keep the glasses in the fridge as well so it's super-duper chilled.

Rum and coke? Do you want peanuts with that my dear?

(sorry - rum and coke always makes me laugh)

Will someone get the jukebox going?

I know, but move around a bit and look like a crowd until some other punters stroll in!

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:26

I can do better than that Jill ......I 'll strap some life sized card board cut out people to either side of me and then move about ......that is sure to make it look like a crowd from the outside : )

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:27

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:29

Whispers to Rose " yes , that's Syd the secret civil servant ...on surveillance "

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!)

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!) Report 24 Jul 2010 22:30

Rose! Welcome dahlink! Of course it's a civil servant but he hasn't yet realised that this is a pub so ignore him!

tee hee Amanda - sorry, my son drinks Rum and Coke sometimes (he's wheat free and can't drink most beers on offer ...) but it always strikes me as an old man's drink. Maybe that's because my dad was in the RN and that was about the only alcohol he would drink ...

(peers out from behind numerous cardboard cut-outs of a crowd)

Is anyone going to get me another glass of wine?

All this crowd impersonation is thirsty graft

Maybe I ought to dress up as " Long John Silver " then Jill........but I can't imagine he would have had coke with his tot of the hard stuff .

Wanders about looking for a parrot to perch on my shoulder ...........lol

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!) Report 24 Jul 2010 22:34

Blimey! You got through that one pretty quick!

(hands yet another LARGE glass of excellent vino to the slightly tipsy lady in the flat crowd)

Rambling Report 24 Jul 2010 22:35

I used to like rum and coke...or just rum really lol, it didn't go to my head like wine :)

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!) Report 24 Jul 2010 22:37

He didn't add Coke in those days ... blackcurrant by choice.

I remember as a very young child if I was recovering from a cold or virusy thing he would at some point appear with a hot blackcurrant drink - which was lovely and a rare treat as it was part of his "tipple". As I grew old enough to be allowed alcohol he would put a splash of rum in it. Lovely jubbly. I couldn't drink rum and blackcurrant cold, and I don't drink rum anyway, but a HOT rum and black - oh yes!

Jill

p.s. A parrot would suit you but is liable to poo down your back so make sure you're not wearing anything TOO precious!

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:37

I can't have another one yet .....I seem to feel compelled to hold hands with the rather two dimentional fellows to my right and left..............I'm in the middle of a paper chain reaction !

Will someone please wake up that "civil" "servant"?

He's here to offer us his expert advice on how to run this community pub. Not to snooze in the corner.

I;ll just wander over to the juke box and put on a bit of Diana Ross in honour of Amanda and her Chain Reaction

Slurp, slurp

Do you think that hot Rum and blackcurrant is a hot toddy ? or is that an altogether different mix ?

These card board cut outs are getting heavy , I think I'll position them round the bar area in natural poses .
