My son [now 34] used to suck a dummy but one night going to bed it couldn't be found. In desperation I got some Rhubarb from the garden and he sucked that instead............I didn't put sugar on it though. He continued to suck rhubarb while it was in season and that was the end of the dummy |

Yes, shudder to think of it now, made some rhubarb, wine once, well lets just say laxative tablets weren't needed after 3 glasses were drunk, don't trust blackberries after making wine out of them as when i strained the liquid off there was grubs left in with the fruit pulp, never made home amde wine again. |

Used to eat Rhubarb this way often, but not allowed the sugar anymore. If you do get a root to start, remember not to pull any the first year as it will not come good if you do. It will not grow in some soils but is really hardy in most. Ihave a garden now where it will not grow as the soil is too new to gardening, having been a field until 30 yrs ago. Jean |

Mom and Dad had, and still have an enormous rhubarb area...... we have many a shortage of toilet paper due to the 'sugar in a cup, and rhubarb stick' |
