How appropriate that Ann of Green Gables should make the announcement!

(But shame -- don't you know that she was Anne *with an "e"*, as she constantly told people?!)

World Book Day was designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. The origins of the day we now celebrate in the UK and Ireland come from Catalonia, where roses and books were given as gifts to loved ones on St. George’s Day – a tradition started over 80 years ago. For international information about World Book Day, please click here. www.UNESCO.org

World Book Day 2008 in the UK and Ireland will take place on Thursday 6th March. Please note that this date applies to the UK and Ireland only. ...

Now how can anyone possibly do housework if she is doing her civic duty and reading a book?

I wonder whether our poetry reading last night counts.

Does that mean instead of doing the ironing after my tea - I can curl up with a book instead? I have three on the go lol

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 6 Mar 2008 20:42

couldn't care less if she had no "e" on her name, I never read the book anyway and we were too poor for me to have an "e"

If you got a really hot novel, couldn't you kill 2 birds with one stone and use that to do the ironing?

Maddiecow Report 6 Mar 2008 20:48

lol Dingbat I have a freind that places a towel under her sofa cushions puts the sheets folded flat on top and sits on them to 'iron' them.

Unfortunatly my chair cushions dont come off as recliners.

Or I could have done that and read book and ironed at same time :)

Deanna

Deanna Report 6 Mar 2008 20:49
