kathryn B.
I think you underestimate your fellow posters .Ann (wiv an E) for your benefit ...of Green gables is a late historical novel .. bit of a AG lab Diary to us in the UK ...ohhh sorry
I think your reference to the e was tongue in cheek and taken as such ..

So do you like Deavers and Cornwalls then stray?

AnnCardiff Report 6 Mar 2008 21:13

Kathryn - you are unbelievable - I am far from being a miserable humourless griper - how dare you!! I realised you were kidding, if others didn't. At first I thought "what a cheek" and then I thought, no, she's kidding. You really do have a very unfortunate way of coming across, you must have realised that by now and at the very least I think I deserve an apology for such an unwarranted tirade.

Oh Blimey..gonna get shot now but ...here goes anyway...
English translation ....
Kathryn says Anne of Green gables in the book always made a point of the "E" on the end of her name.. was a snobbery thing .Kathryn is right on this also she is saying it,s nice that someone with this board name should post a thread about world book reading day ...
OK she is very very good at illiterating .. just not very good at conversing on this subject without offending...
Waits to be shot !!!!

AnnCardiff Report 6 Mar 2008 21:50

I honestly never ever read Anne of Green Gables and just stuck Green Gables on my name on a mere whim - she does have an unfortunate way of trying to be funny - sad innit!!

Same applies to me Maddy, but I find her at times refreshingly honest if somewhat misguided to some peoples way of thinking , in her responses . She doesn,t say what we all expect I admit , but she never runs and hides ..never deletes , has the courage of her convictions .
There,s a lot who put up a controversial thread then delete when the going gets tough ...

Kim, I respect your view ....... with the exception of deleating please just read down this thread if not others.

I agree life would be very dull if we were all the same and its nice to see another point of view some times.

Someone on here once said to me - you cant delate what you have said in real life you have to live and deal with it.

It was very good advice.

Wishing you well
Its v rare I have lost my rag.
