I moved from the Midlands to Essex 6 mths ago after meeting my OH on a dating site...if we were to have a future one of us had to move. 3 of my daughters came with me n eldest (18) stayed there with her boyfriend. Twins (16) decided they didn't like it here cause it was either college or work so they moved to South Wales with their dad......So just leaves me n lil one n OH. Left Mum, Dad n Siblings behind too......

Miss them all but it had to be done....

well only moved from Sarf East London to Kent in the 1960.s

Was a WW2 Evacuee to Kent in 1939 aged 2½ and always thought myself more a Kentish Maid than a London cockney lol.

Youngest sis went the whole hog and moved to Canada in 1978 and has just!! taken Canadian citizenship.

I 'upped sticks' many a time. Initially because of dad's job, then beause I was young & free.
I used to see one gran occasinally, but didn't know the other existed until I was 10!!
As an adult, I moved from Portsmouth to the Shetland Isles when I was 19. Stayed there 3 years. Left my sister & one brother in Hampshire. My mum was in Surrey and my other brother in USA.
Moved via Dumfries & Galloway and Irvine to Essex. While I was there, my sister moved to Ireland, then came back to England to live up the road in Suffolk!!
I moved back to Hampshire and sister moved back to Ireland, one brother still in Hampshire (he hasn't moved from there!) other bro in Thailand at the time.

As you can see - 3 of us had a spot of wonderlust.
I moved 28 times before I was 32. I have lived here for over 20 years now, my sister is settled in W Sussex, one bro in Hampshire, mum in Portugal and other brother just about to settle in Somerset!!!!

We all get together at least twice a year.

Good prices in parts of Ireland...I have been looking!!!

not sure where I am going...but bungalow is going up for sale soon...no family where I am...so that isn't a consideration anyway...but if you want to do it...DO IT!!

Seize the day!
If it is a mistake...well at least you tried! you rarely regret the things you have done as much as you regret the things you DIDN'T do!!!!

Me from Birmingham to Spain 6 years ago - left mom, sister, 2 sons, 1 d i l and 2 grandchildren. Miss them all but at end of day only 2 hours away by plane and here with my hubby of 40 years. No regrets - sounds selfish but as has already been said only 1 life.
Love Mary xx
