Been busy decorating , and working on my tree ,was wrong on one side of the family after getting marriage cert was able to correct tree and now may have Irish roots !!

I think we all have Irish roots somewhere along the line lol I know I have but have yet to find them.

Yes my Grandafther was a Miner and Hubby's father also. My hubby worked with the Pit Ponies for about a year after he left school also
he hated it.

Bit of extra trivia on that question. The Pit survived another 3 years and was eventually closed down in 1998

When I lived in South Wales back in the Sixties there was a terrible disater in the Tower Colliery with miners killed. One of the miners that worked there and was killed was a customer in my fathers pub

Hirwaun was up the top of the Hill or Mountain and I lived in the Valley below not far away
