I have to agree with you. I had read the previous thread before it had been deleted and there was nothing there that I found offensive and in fact I have to agree with a lot of it.

Also I agree that we are all entitled to our opinion. We are not the children the GR are obviously treating us like. We are all adults and can speak our minds. If others don't like it then they don't have to agree. Seems to me that there is a too much censorship.

I reported a thread the other day or week. I could name all the times I've reported a post or thread in the 5 years I've used this site because they've been so few. I've only ever complained if I've thought someone else was being treated unfairly - never worries me what anyone says to or about me - and I've always said on the thread that I've going to report it.

I haven't got a problem anyone disagreeing with me or having a different opinion but I do hate seeing people treated unfairly on here. In the real world I could do more about it but on a website all you can do is show your support and/or report what you think is wrong. You might call that sad and that's up to you.

I think if we dont agree with something then fine, thats the point of a free country, we accept others have opinions that differ to our own. BUT asking for a thread to be deleted should be reserved for serious reasons - ie, someone very explicitly talking about sex (teenagers come on here too, not just us lot), or someone saying abuse and crime is ok, for example. Simply giving our thoughts on a convicted paedophile - that we'd rather he not be alive to attack anyone else - is not harmful, its not a reason to ask for something to be deleted.
People may have a differ of opinion and think (for example) Glitter should live, but everyone is entitled to an opinion, and the majority of us DON'T support paedophiles....and are entitled to that view without being deleted.

David, I would like to say that I don't like to see people being treated badly either, I know that recently a lot of our friends on the boards here have been made to feel upset and some have even left because of it and that is really sad. Of course we all have different opinions, would be very boring if we were all the same. I think the point is that it is not just the occasional thread that is being deleted, I don't think people mind that when there is a valid reason, but lately it seems that many many threads have disappeared for no apparent reason.

It is sad David, if people cant have an adult discussion without getting upset when their view was in the minority...I will always strive to defend everyone's right to an opinion even when their view disagrees with mine

I agree Col, seems that all these deletions recently are caused by a minority that do not like discussion and people having their own opinions.

The Man of Kent where is your proof that Ju reported the Glitter thread, other than she disagreed with what was being said?

Romany Star I may have misinterpreted what you said but just because someone doesn't believe that Glitter should be put to death doesn't mean that they support paedophiles. Ps I'm not shouting

Somebody reported it, and I cant understand why. Cant they just say hey sorry folks but the reason was such-and-such. 99% of us saying we hate child abusers and murderers isnt bad, its human nature, so why want it to be deleted?

Colin I didn't read the thread which is why I was asking. Bear in mind though that other people may have also reported the thread, which may also have had an influence on Gr's decision.

I cant understand why people report so much, if they don't like it...dont read it.
