I think I was one of the last to post on it. Someone said that the Thread was vile. I said that it was not the Thread that was vile. It was the man who was vile!!!

Maybe, they didn't like my answer!!! And I'm sorry if my post was responsible for the Thread's removal. But I was just saying what I think. And I still think it!!!

As I said on another thread -
Non-paying members can report what they find offensive, too, and they would not be able to post on the board nor send a PM. There again, the GR staff might have seen it and deleted it

I didnt see the thread on GG but if I imagine my own child being a victim, i find it hard to say i wouldnt exact the worst revenge,

I do not support Mr Glitter nor any other paedophiles .

But what Id like to do to them, I wouldnt put in great detail on what is predominately a family history site.

Some of the descriptions of how people would like to torture these people do not make comfortable reading for many people and border on savagery.

Resulting in an unpleasant thread & complaints - then removal by abuse.

(I diddnt see the thread but this subject has been covered several times before) But I do understand why some took offence

Maddy what do you mean by supporting GG?? Does that include not castrating him or putting him to death??

People who support someone like GG make me suspicious,and I dont want to think ill of them,but what else can you think.??? I"m sorry if I have offended anyone but it is what I think.

Colin I didn't read the thread which is why I was asking. Bear in mind though that other people may have also reported the thread, which may also have had an influence on Gr's decision.

Somebody reported it, and I cant understand why. Cant they just say hey sorry folks but the reason was such-and-such. 99% of us saying we hate child abusers and murderers isnt bad, its human nature, so why want it to be deleted?

Probably just the fact the ju put a post up on the thread to say she was reporting it!!! what more proof do you need??

The Man of Kent where is your proof that Ju reported the Glitter thread, other than she disagreed with what was being said?

Romany Star I may have misinterpreted what you said but just because someone doesn't believe that Glitter should be put to death doesn't mean that they support paedophiles. Ps I'm not shouting

I agree Col, seems that all these deletions recently are caused by a minority that do not like discussion and people having their own opinions.

It is sad David, if people cant have an adult discussion without getting upset when their view was in the minority...I will always strive to defend everyone's right to an opinion even when their view disagrees with mine

David, I would like to say that I don't like to see people being treated badly either, I know that recently a lot of our friends on the boards here have been made to feel upset and some have even left because of it and that is really sad. Of course we all have different opinions, would be very boring if we were all the same. I think the point is that it is not just the occasional thread that is being deleted, I don't think people mind that when there is a valid reason, but lately it seems that many many threads have disappeared for no apparent reason.

I think if we dont agree with something then fine, thats the point of a free country, we accept others have opinions that differ to our own. BUT asking for a thread to be deleted should be reserved for serious reasons - ie, someone very explicitly talking about sex (teenagers come on here too, not just us lot), or someone saying abuse and crime is ok, for example. Simply giving our thoughts on a convicted paedophile - that we'd rather he not be alive to attack anyone else - is not harmful, its not a reason to ask for something to be deleted.
People may have a differ of opinion and think (for example) Glitter should live, but everyone is entitled to an opinion, and the majority of us DON'T support paedophiles....and are entitled to that view without being deleted.
Right, Im off my soapbox, this my longest post ever. And dont shout at me cos Im not listening.
