So many of the younger generation dont seem to want to breast feed these days
Im delighted that Claire said she wouldnt dream of bottle feeding, unless by some unfortunate chance she cant feed her herself.

I breast fed all 3 of mine, untill they were toddlers, its the most natural and beautiful thing for a mum to do, in my eyes.
it builds such a special bond with the baby

so is Breast best, ? or did you think bottle was more convenient ?

Lis I breast fed for 6 months but from 3 months she was half and half as went back to work.

Nath I breast fed for a few weeks but he was so hungry in the evenings he would feed for an hour sleep for half an hour then feed for an hour so puthim on hungry baby milk.

Zo I did for a few weeks but she was getting yellower and yellower and I was giving her breast milk jaundice and as I had flu at same time and she chewed me nipple off very painful and she was a prjectile vomitter so put her on bottle didnt stop the projectile vomitting but she stopped being yellow.

I think its personal choice

I bottle fed my 1st as I was a bit selfish then, I tried to breastfeed my 2nd but he wouldn't have it so had to bottlefeed him, I successfully breastfed my 3rd until she was 8 months (although in the last couple of months she just got her morning feed) and would recommend to anyone. (well anyone having a baby obviously!)
Tell her good luck with it. I was going to give up tomorrow for the first 2 weeks but after that it was fine.

I still feel a failure because I could not feed either of my sons myself.
After a very prolonged, induced labour, my first son had to be born by emergency Caesarian, done under an epidural.
Then I was told he had a heart problem.
As he was not getting enough nourishment from me, I was made to start him on bottle feeds.
I was so afraid of not giving my second son a good start (after a second Caesarian) that I never really tried with him and he went straight onto a bottle.
They have both turned into healthy, strapping men, but I still look at them and feel this sense of guilt.

I dont think there is a right or wrong way to feed a baby, the main thing is that the mum is feeding her baby in a way which is best for her as a happy mum is a happy baby.

I breast fed my oldr 2 untill they were 14 months old. Had to bottle feed the youngest but got to admit for the convienience i prefer bottle feeding. The youngest is not half as clingy as the other 2 were at her age. But would recommend both. Lynette xx

I laughed at the clingy bit - my younger daughter used to have a fixation with chests and I often had to stop her putting her hand down my jumper, this was until she was about 3 or 4. Thank god she grew out of it as it would have been embarrassing.

I breast fed both mine but it was difficult at first. I saved an awful lot of money by doing so.

when i had my first, no one mentioned breast feeding, didnt really understand it, tried with 2nd, caesariaen n really wanted too understood it better but me pumps had run dry, 3rd, she was so poorly, and was fed by the staff through a drip, personaly after talking with younger mums, i think far too much pressure is put on young woman, to breast feed, and men always want bitty they never grow out of it
