Hi Hayley,

Well I played the Angel Gaberiel twice and Mary twice, Both parts were speaking and singing roles and I was usually choosen because I had a loud voice. This was a very very very long time ago.

I was an angel one year and my mother was ill at the time and never use to come to school to watch anying she never even took me...but I begged and pleaded with her to come and watch me...

On the day ....I couldnt see her anywhere and my friends was waving to their parents . I got up on stage with my hands together and scanned the place looking for her, just as we finished and was getting off stage ...I spotted her bleamming with pride...

The year after I got the part of Mary ....and was told to pick the baby up (doll) and cuddle it whilst the choir sang " we will rock you " not Queens version...
and did as I was told and right on que gently ran my finger round the dolls face and tenderly placed a kiss on the dolls forehead as I lower it in to the cribb not a dry eye in the house .....lol

I was a narrator because I was good at reading, I would have given a kidney to be Mary or Angel Gabriel (even tho we now know he was a bloke anyway).
My youngest is Sheep 2 this year, it's not a traditional nativity, it's 'The very grumpy sheep' which I'm told does make some passing references to the nativity.
Her line is 'What a grumpy sheep' and she can say it with feeling.

I have to say there's a lot of Mary's and Angels on here, you jammy lot.
My mam made me feel better by pointing out that angel Gabriel was the teachers great neice!

I was never in the Nativity play, and wasn't allowed to sing, even in the background choir!!, I was told to mime.

I got my own back at the Eisteddfod.... my poetry recital was brilliant, apparently, English or Welsh!!

love
