My mam gets one and hasn't mentioned it so I'm presuming she hasn't got it yet.
My Dad turned 60 this year so it's in joint names, my Mam is a bit put out - don't know why as my dad doesn't see the money anyway!

Mum-in-law has had hers, but she is over 90, so maybe they start with the eldest. I haven't had mine yet.

I have my own account so we get ours separately..

Mine goes into my account and his goes into the joint account!!!!!

My Mum hasn't mentioned hers yet, so I'm assuming she hasn't had it so far.

My mate got hers for the first time. It depends when your birthday is, if you get it the first year. I know someone whose birthday is later in the year, and she won't get it this year. Unfair as far as I am concerned.

If your birthday is before the 30th September then you will get the winter fuel payment this year.BUT if your birthday falls after that then you don't get the fuel payment this year but have to wait til next winter.

I think this is a crazy idea from the government because there are hundreds of pensioners that are 60 after the 30th September.

So if your like me my birthday 18 days after the deadline it's just tough according to DWP.

Even though we have fuel bills that could be high and the same as a couple.

More than likely go to see my MP over this next week at his office.

Budgie me and OH not my parents (I don't think they get it where they are bless them).

It has gone up, it used to be £100 per household (i.e. £50 each if you had it separately), it is now £200 per household (£100 each). I think it is excellent.

Hi Purple Diamond,

Have you been contacted by your local council yet to inform you that you now qualify as you are over 60?? They usually do this and ask if you want the money paid directly into you bank account.

What I dont understand is why the disabled dont get it too. We feel the cold just as much, sometimes more - and we are just as at risk from the cold too. We might be getting global warming, but I had my heating on quite a lot this past "summer".
