I was afraid of pulling the flush, as well, Puss. In case a monster got me

The girl next door also once told me that I would get get a baby in my tummy if I sat on the loo after my brothers or my dad. I was about 9 or 10 I think. My one brother was only a baby!! I was petrified of sitting on the toilet seat if I knew they had needed to *sit down* and thought that was why they had to wee with the loo seat up!!

I thought that was why my mum had so many babies and that was why you had mens/boys toilets and ladies/girls toilets, too. pmsl!!

When I was about 7 or 8yrs old I used to get scared whenever we visited a particular elderly Greek friend of the family. I was convinced she was a witch.

I was that nervous of being in her home that when given a drink in a glass I would literally bite into the glass until it broke (a few times it cut my lips which caused mayhem with mum panicking, dad shouting, siblings laughing etc). My parents couldn't understand why this only ever happened when we visited her house and I was too shy to tell them how scared I was.

This glass-biting thing happened so many times there, that in the end I was given plastic cups to drink from.

I now know she was dressed all in black cos she was in mourning and the strange, pungent smell in her house was mothballs LOL

I specifically remember an English Actor in Movies that scared me to death when I was young. His name was Donald Pleasance he always made me go cold whenever I saw him. I have occasionally seen him in Movies and recently he was in an Australian Movie that I saw on TV and he still makes my skin crawl.
I remember seeing him in a movie when I was in my teens called "Doctor Crippen" I only watched a little bit of it and had to leave the Cinema.

Also was scared of the Dark as a child. I still don't like it. But sorry I still don't laugh about it
Regards
Jackie

My big childhood fear was dinosaurs after watching certain black and white movies. I used to have nightmares about them and even now I can't watch the likes of Jurassic Park much to my OH's amusement.

I am well aware now that it is a daft fear but I stay away from anything about them just in case.

Paul Temple- the detecitve on the radio!
There was one story when they went into a darkend house they looked up the stairs and a man fell down from top to bottom, with a dagger in his back.

After that if I was in the house on my own when it was going dark I used to go around opening all the wardrobe and cupboard doors and all the drawers and not looking up the stairs-just incase.

My parents could not understand why I'd opened everything and I couldn't tell them incase they laughed!!

I had 4 teeth taken out at the age of 4. Every time I saw somebody in a white coat ie baker's was one I sceamed the place down.
To this day the smell of rubber and the gas that was used at the time , feel sick thinking about it

Like a few others Daleks., oh those voices.
Bogie men under the bed.

And one that still worries me is a war.
I was scared the Germans would come and shoot me.
