Thanks everyone for your very good wishes.
She's had a rough time - it could only happen to her! A lot of blood collected under the skin (severe bruising) but it had to be drained before it coagulated as she would have been in dreadful pain - hence the second op.
However the op itself was successful and the surgeon was "cautiously optimistic".
She's on oxygen and is getting morphine but is also getting the very best of care.
Glad today's over though!

Many thanks again folks. I didn't mean to stay on so long but got caught up reading and of course I had to get on my soapbox and reply!

I'm lucky, I still have my Mum, and she's a good mum. To those who haven't, please try to remember the good times. If you didn't have a good mum then I'm so sorry.
A Mother's love's a Blessing - never was there a truer saying.
