Have been thinking about moving, but if I sold the house and didn't buy another I could afford to travel around and do things I will never otherwise do , rather wish I was brave enough to take a chance on it! and hope that by the time the money runs out something will have 'turned up' lol

Take my first flight in an aeroplane. I've never flown, first hubby wouldn't, and my OH hates flying.

*sigh* Maybe I will take my mum to Dublin as a treat when I get enough money, can fly then.

Ooh Diana, give it a go! I am not a 'pub goer' generally but I have done that, and was amazed that my more 'wordly' friend said she couldn't do it!

Teresa, going to Dublin would be good as it's not too long a flight to cope with for a first one.

In fact, TW, I shall take you there some day. Flying is a doddle:-) Rose if you have no real responsibilities here and you really want to travel, just go for it. I have always trusted that things will work out and they do! The Universe is very nice when you have faith in it...er...but if anything goes wrong, I have a basement you could kip in:-) lol

Now bungee jumping is another thing..*shudders.

Rose.............do you want to sit in a chair when you are old and think "if only"

or sit and remember what you did!

Go for it!

Aww thanks BC.

I went there once, but by ferry from Holyhead. Loved the place, but my mum has never been there.

Now she has travelled on her own, to Austria and Italy. Yet she finds it hard to think about travelling alone within the UK. Doesn't say much does it.

Rose, Kitty is right. If you have the opportunity to do that, then do it. You won't regret doing it, but you might regret not doing it.

Now stop encouraging me lol!

I think back to when I was a kid and my mum moved us 'lock stock and barrel' to the Isle of Man, with no visible means of support lol. But think that is also part of my hesitation, this is my really first 'security' in the sense of owning my walls and roof!
My son's eleven so I think he'd love the adventure...but what about my two cats.....
maybe in a few years? !

Hi Rose - haven't seen you for days!
I have travelled (USA several times, France & in 2000 NZ which was my last 2-wk hol) since then apart from trip organised by my daughter for me to go to Prague for 4 days in 2006 only odd days here and there.
Circumstances change so you have to do what you can when you can! Jx

Rose,

Travelled a hell of a lot before the children arrived. When I got well past 50 we decided to 'live life' and not miss any opportunities. Life isn't a rehearsal, if you are young enough to start again (which you are) GO FOR IT!!!

Love

Oh now I'd love to do that. I love watching storms here, but to see a tornado would be something else.

Mind you, the devastation after would be another matter.

This is the third time this has happened to me.

I added to this thread a minute ago, and it is not here!

I said..... something like!

bungee jump, I would never do that I can barely stand on a stool.

Have any of you ever added to a thread and found it not added?

If you want to do something you must take the plunge dont do as I did and let it go by.
I have tried to encourage my children to follow thier dreams and happy to say that they have.
Daughter went of to NZ and had the best time and has a lot of photos to keep.
1 son had taken up rally driving and is away this weekend following his dream.
2 son joined to army and followed his dream.

Yes Deanna Me! I have 'added' and then had it disappear!

Hi all, Sorry was just answering a PM re selling up and travelling lol
Seems I struck a chord with this, I am really beginning to think about it seriously...........?! Mind you if you saw the amount of 'stuff' I have, you would know I am not a minimalist who could live out of a suitcase.....or could I? lol

I have been to france, Austria, Germany and los angeles on holidays in the past but nowhere except Chester and London for a few days in the last 15 years! Would love to go to Ireland but would want to have quite a lot of time there not just a quick trip................

Must get on with the decorating when my neck is better and get a valuation!
My mum's favourite song was "I was born under a wandering star"! lol I am getting more like her as I get older !

Yes Deanna, always doing it, I hit the preview button instead of submit button ;)

I think if I was brave enough I would climb a mountain, never done it.
