Snowdonia. Second to that, there is a little remote celtic chapel near Bradwell on Sea in Essex. You can sit in there and not hear any traffic noise whatsoever. Just silence. That is rare these days.

I caught some of it anita, wonderful, isnt it? Stella that is lovely, I wish i had a garden, Id make it my paradise, Rach, I lived in Sheffield and loved the peak district, teresa i too love wales, the chapel sounds bliss, Liz i was at Aysgarth falls a week ago today, so wonderful!! Caz xxx

I have to admit that I like Aberaeron too although friends here think that I am mad!! The Gower beaches when it is hot and I can manage the long walk, nicer in winter when the tourists have gone!! Sue x

Hello Maggie, I had whooping cough when little and had recuperation near Redruth but visited lots of places but loved Mevagissey. Went there a couple of years ago with hubby and it hadn't been spoilt too much and still loved it.. Sue

Devils Kitchen NR Bangor North Wales I went when i was 11 with the school 22 years ago and it has remained in my head and heart for all those years never seen or been anywhere as beautiful. K x

I've lived in many places and they all hold a special place in my heart. I love Cornwall, as I love the people and my dad was 'Nth' generation Cornish. I love the Shetland Isles as I believe I was at my happiest, I loved the raw lanscape, the biting winds that warmed you up as they battered you, lying on a clifftop watching puffins, ducking the bonxies as they attacked you, and I met some wonderful people. maggie

This is easy Caz, for me any Devon & Cornwall coastline, but especially Plymouth Hoe,overlooking the sound, Summer or Winter,I will always be there. Trish xx

kath I havent been there although wales is not too far drom me, Christine, you sound so like me, free and wild is what I love, Maggie, your description is so evocitive, what a magical place to have lived, I loved the western isles, please more folks, this is wonderful and celebrates our marvellous islands, Thanks caz x
