Mum and Dad lived with Dad's parents in NW London until I was 4. Following a house fire there Mum, Dad and my sister and I were rehoused in Clerkenwell, WC1. Then moved to Lewisham in 1965. In the late 60's we all moved to Sidcup, Kent. I then married 1st husband and we bought a house in the Blackheath area of London. Then bought house in Bexleyheath with 2nd husband and moved to a larger one also in Bexleyheath in 1989, where we still are. So that's a grand total of SEVEN. How boring is that!!! Dee x |

Only lived in 4 houses. Two with my parents and two since I've been married. Been in this house for 18 years now, my longest yet. Always lived in the same area, so I've never moved far. |

A lot of you have been everywhere! Clapham - to 1961. Bromley - to 1976 Dartford - to 1979 Blackheath - to 1983 Lee Green - to 1986 Ashford, Kent - to 1993 Whitstable, Kent - to now. 9 houses in total. - well two of them were flats. The funny thing is that none of them were terraced - they've either been flats in old detached houses or end terraced. Jill |

Romany, Not really. Mum and dad separated when they were in Riyadh. Dad went to Nigeria via a few places, then 'retired' to Southampton, Mum moved to London, then Surrey. She now lives in Portugal. The main problem I've found with living in one place for so long is the accumulation of 'stuff'. I think I'm making up for lost time LOL maggie |

Depends if you mean how many homes you have lived in, in your life so far - or how many since marriage? Being a child of a civilian father who worked on Service stations, I grew up on RAF stations. In England we moved every two years, and if we were abroad, every three years. But since I married into the RN, I have lived in seven different homes in thirty-seven years. At one time we owned four fridges, three freezers, seven beds, two cookers, two washing machines, one industrial-sized dryer, two microwaves, etc. in two different countries. Life is a bit tame now. Romany, My elder went to 3 primary schools, my younger went to 2. I went to 7 (I think) schools in total, but my sister (4 years older) went to 14. We both ended up in a Grammar school at a time when the curriculum wasn't the same in different areas. I would say we have a 'Jack of all trades, master of none' education - ie know a bit about the Romans etc, but not how it fits in with anything LOL Being children of our time, my brothers went to boarding school!!! I was taught the 'proper' way to write 3 times!!! So if anyone wonders about my handwriting - blame my education LOL maggie |
