I hate my name always have since the old vic adverts in the 60's and present day due to the stick Malcolms get from modern day comediens. My middle name is david but not that keen on that either so double stuck. Malcolm David.6ft3, 19stone and tattooed.

MY MIDDLE NAME IS LESLEY AFTER MY FATHER WHO WAS WILLIAM LESLIE. ONE THING I DO FIND FUNNY ABOUT NAMES IS THAT IN IRELAND LOTS OF MEN'S MIDDLE NAMES ARE MARY.

Susie, All three of your girls have got gorgeous names. And if they don't like their first they may end up using their second one. Wish my mum had been more adventurous.

Not over keen on my name but my husband, Jez,hates his full title of Jeremy Cyril. Refuses to answer to Jeremy and wont admit to Cyril.

all the suggestions for my name were written on a cigarette packet - I nearly got called Kensitas mild! then I was Nicola Helen, when my dad went to register me he changed his mind and I became Theresa - which I loath - I've never been called it, always been Teri..... I have always liked my name. Never wanted to be called anything other than Anne. I do get annoyed when it is spelled without the 'e' though. Think it looks unfinished! Anne

I get annoyed with Mackenzies Creche the variations they come out with Mickinzie, Mckenzie, Macenzie, mickenzie it can be really frustrating Susie

i hate my name cherie(pronounced sherree) my mum wanted Erin which i dnt mind but we had a petrol station called heron so my dad decided against that...my mum decided clair louise but my dad named me after a stevie wonder song' my cherie amour' sick of being called cherry,sherry etc my parents call me chez!! after all that......... my daughter hates her name too but i love it... Natalia Jade. my sons are Mason and Logan all three are getting a little more popular now though.x

I'm Mandy, not Amanda - mum thought that everyone would shorten it anyway so she'd save them the bother. But - you've guessed it - I often get called Amanda! My poor husband is called Marston. He doesn't seem to mind much and no, he's not known as anything else, but I'd rather not have to repeat/spell his name several times when anyone asks what my husband is called. Our son (only child) is called Jordan, and we chose it before it became popular. We had wanted Jonathan but another pregnant friend said she had chosen it first (yep!!). Jordan was the next name down in the baby book and we suddenly thought yes, that's nice! It works ok with our surname, and I asked him if he likes his name and he said yes, of course! Think boys are easier to please than girls. Mandy :)

my dad is Dermot and until Diamuid Gavin was known everyone used to say 'what' when they asked his name. my hubby was the youngest of 12 and is called Paul,his dad wanted to call him Roger after Roger Moore,what a relief he didn't,he doesn't look a Roger at all

I dont really like my name,even though there was only one Anna at school.I get called Anne and Hannah :-S Kids are Jacob Thomas and Ryan Michael but Jacob likes being called Harry(Potter) and Ryan said hes changed his name to Legolas(LOTR) and he doesnt answer to ryan lol Anna :-)

I wasn't keen on my name when I was younger cos it was too long to write when I was learning, especially with my surname. Now I introduce myself as Liz to everyone but my brother and sister-in-law will still call me Elizabeth even though I sign cards etc Liz - it is so annoying as I only got called by my full name when I had been up to mischief at home so he should know by now. I couldn't pronounce my name when I was small and called myself Bizzy then my baby brother had problems with pronunciation so called me Bebe. At School it was always Lizzie and as I was an Olive Oyl lookalike, it was often accompanied by Skinny! Consequently I gave my son a short name - Guy - and it really suits him and won't date him when he is older.

My name is Laraine Vivian and as a child I was told by the head master I couldn't spell my own name I was named Laraine after a Laraine Day film star and Vivian is a family name that I have only just found out about as ancesters were Vivians so I always wanted another name didn't have a preference. But Mum wanted me to be Dianna after the song but GRANMA wouldn't allow it Dads Mother so Laraine it was now don't mind what I'm called just don't call me late for dinner LOL Lara xx

Have to tell you this too our son is Joshua Michael Frank Smith he couldn't say it as a little fellar so he told anybody who asked his name it was ' Dosher Markel Fankie Fiff' and we still laugh about it today and he hated Joshua as a name and often asked me why didn't I call him a normal name and when I asked what that would be he used to say Mark or Mathew or John don't know why he preferred them but as I said the dogs bark those names ,but they bark Joshua over here now too LOL Lara

I've always liked my name, tried to live up to its meaning and never liked it shortened to 'Flis' or 'Flick' or anything like that. Having said that, as the oldest of 4, I did like it very much when my younger brothers and sister struggled to pronounce it and came up with 'Filitty' 'Fisty' and 'Fitty'. They all got the hang of it eventually and none of those names stuck. Felicity I remain. :-)
