As a rule I try not to drink spirits before lunchtime, think that is a good guide and one the rest of you should follow! Dave

I have a question. How do you people that know the names of their guides know this? I went to a spiritualist after a friend went and was told her guide was an old man. I wanted to see if the spiritualist could tell me about mine , but she didn't mention anything, only that she could see a tortoise! Apparently this signified me , wanting to stay in my shell! Would she have been able to see them?

Funny how they all seem to be either Red Indians or Chinese

Some people believe in spirit guides, some in guardian angels. Some believe their ancestors are watching out for them. I am guided by my conscience and instincts. Maybe these are influenced by a higher power, maybe not. But I don't think I would label the feelings I get about doing/not doing something as a spirit guide. nell

How fascinating this thread is ! I am not sure what or who my guide is , all I know is someone must be looking out for me . When I was convinced I had an illness although I had no symptoms, my doctor thought I was being paranoid. I had such a strong sense of someone warning me something was wrong, that I had my first mammogram. I had breast cancer that was in the early stages , but definately on the move. Whoever my guide is , I have them to thank , I am sure.

LOL just read this thread again. It is spooky BC I know but have to admit I'm PMSL at Wendy. That's the way I've always treated it too, but hey, who knows. Hope I do have one - I need one, badly at times. Jan :-))

anita this reminded me of how i felt 11 years ago, ive always felt spooked as i was growing up and felt my kids have had someone watching over them, only as my daughter got to teenage years that through going to meetings with her i have put a reason for things that have happened, as maybe not being coincidence whilst living away (hubby was a soldier) i used to call my parents regular and write everyday to mum and dad, mum would write too , i sat one afternoon in my fairly new quarter, with kids , writing to mum and dad drinking a cuppa coffee, it was just before 5pm, and just gazed out window trying to think what to say, when my hand went weak spilling my coffee over letter and suite, next day hubby phoned my brother as i couldnt get reply at mum and dads house and sister in law told him mum had collapsed at around 5pm the day before and was in hospital, i feel it was a warning but at the time my head was all over the place

Paul The theory is that it doesn't work like that. Spirit guides aren't there to make your life easier but apparently when and if you are ready they come to you to help you become aware of your higher self and guide you towards a greater understanding.

Hi, My Grandparents were healers, and I have been bought up with the knowledge of spiritulism and healing. While at my Nans one day when I was about 14, a lady came to her house to give my grandad healing, she told me that there was a lady who was looking after me, she described her, and my Nan told me that it was her Mother. This lady (trudie) also told me that when I reach my late 20's early 30s I would start to feel 'things' and that when I am 30 I would be given 2 peices of gold, which I must add, freaked me a bit. 3 years ago my maternal Nan passed away (suddenly), the week leading up her death I felt unwell, I kept getting palpations, and feeling dizzy, I could'nt figure it out. The day she passed the feeling disapeared, and I believe that I was being prepared for her going. I was very close to her, we had a very speacial bond. My Nan passed away 2 weeks before our birthdays, her's was the day after mine. My mum gave me her eternity and engagment rings, (2 peices of gold) I had just turned 31! My paternal Nan who was a healer, passed away 2 years ago, since her passing I have felt a very strong presence to my right. I like to think that both my Nans are looking after me.

If there's someone watching over me, then he or she isn't doing a very good job...
