Hi Dave. We haven't spoken, but i agree with you. Surely if people dont like what they, see, read, watch etc the choice is thiers to stop doing it. A warning is a good idea. regards deb

Just flipped thro' all your replies...I don't think it would work putting an age limit - some of us (sixties) have a perfectly good sense of humour whereas I know some twenty year olds with NONE. It's all in the mind! Lily

Thank you Deborah,Magi and Lily for your comments, and like Lily says some 60 year olds are more broad minded than some 20 year olds and it is a personal thing. I often go on some of the late evening threads , with BC Sue and Wendy etc and we all have a bit of fun and innuendo and enjoy it no malice at all. I hate it when anybody is quite hurtful to somebody and nasty and personel, but they are just good fun. Davex

Sorry Karen the Hotel thread was one I think Jenny Mommylonglegs did it was called Hotel Utopia and it was a lot of fun innuendo and double entendre etc but all with no malice at all and I used to enjoy that, I played a maintenance man with an eye for the ladies lol. Davex

I have brought this back up to see if anyone else wants to comment on this subject.I think sometimes that people are sitting there just to put a comment on just to complain sometimes, and when they do it completly flattens the thread I dont see anything wrong with some innocent innuendo and if people are not happy why not e mail the person who started the thread and tell them their concerns. I totally agree with you Dave, I think that if people are comfortable and secure about themselves, innuendo and banter will be taken in the vein it is intended, innocent and lighthearted. It may be that some people are not so secure within themselves and perhaps 'over react' to what is normally a bit of fun. These members obviously have deeper issues and really should take a step back and evaluate their attitude. After all, as has been said on these boards time and time again, what one person may find funny, another may not, that is why we have the ability to choose what we do and dont read. Just like the television, if you dont like a program, turn to a different channel. If someone is genuinely upset or offended by a particular thread, then wouldnt it be far more posive and constructive to message the person invovled directly. I am sure we would all listen and delete, a thread if we knew we had upset another member. there is no need to go running to GR behind someones back. I find that underhand, and smacks of someone who is not able to communicate in a mature way with their peers. All this has been said so many times before, but still certain members relish in stirring up trouble for the sake of it. I can only deduce that there is a small minority on here who are very insecure and lonly within their lives, and instead of reaching out to the other members on here who would be only too glad to help, they have retreated within themselves and become very disgruntled with the world. This is only the Internet, we all know it is easier to 'type' rather than talk face to face, sadly this works negatlively aswell as positively. But we all have the choice to walk away from the keyboard, or turn to anotherwebsite or page.... there are millions after all. There, thats my rant over for this month, IF anyone is offended by what i say, i would appreciate they talk to ME first. Be warned though.... i have got Toncilitus and am feeling very sorry for myself :((

I believe in self-censusship; I always count myself in. Ah-ha! We may not all be adults on this site, so perhaps language and subject ought to be moderated. Having said that, of course (of coarse?), while I do object to the excessive use of foul language so prevalent on films and TV, I certainly have no objection to 'Carry On'-style humour of double entendres, etc. My biggest bug-bear is the referral to foul language as 'strong language': it is nothing of the sort, and such a phrase must have Shakepeare, one of the principle origins of truly 'strong language', spinning in his grave. Thanks Rob you dont usually see foul language on this site at all, maybe the innuendo and double entendre but certainly not foul or strong language. Dave
