You certainly have, Dave - thank you! I did tell GR Abuse a few weeks ago that if it should happen again to me, then in future I ***shall*** respond and defend myself, because I don't usually sit back and watch, am not that kind of person!. :-) Joy

Hi everyone!! firstly, Joy i love your singing!! please dont stop, I think as with tv, there is always swear words and a hell of a lot of lip chewing!! i dont like it at all, but i change channels!! who the hell cares wether i like it or not!! so in view of that anything on these boards is ok!! Dave i think you are a true gentleman who considers peoples feelings, Love Helenxx

I have to agree with Mags on this one. Some message boards around seem only to be used by very nasty malicious people, I often think about that and wonder are they nice in real life and only use the message boards to get rid of their aggressive nasty feelings? I musn't suffer from that sort of thing as I never need to be so disgustingly nasty to others, but there must be people who do, so the message board is their outlet. I have seen what has been written on Friends Reunited boards and I would hate this place to go the same as those, it would be a great shame to lose this as a more intelligent place to be, with more pleasant people as well. I don't get offended very easily I don't think I am a prude BUT I don't want a load of that kind of thing here either, the odd dirty joke or naughty thread is ok, it should be no problem if there is a warning on the title which people are normally kind enough to add. I have seen some threads get a bit out of hand, people do sometimes get carried away and so the author may have to get rid of the whole thread just because someone doesn't care and goes too far, its so difficult to know where boundaries are, we all have boundaries but they are in varying degrees. I suppose when it comes down to it its Genes Reunited that will have the final say as its their site, they use these boards to attract people to become members so they know what they want people to see on here. The innuendos and naughty threads are nothing to the various nasty people we have had the displeasure to meet on this board, people who went out of their way to cause terrible upset to members, I cannot abide people who intentionally upset people and think that its OK to do this. The only times I have complained to GR about members and threads has been these types and their nasty threads or postings, I have never and hope I never have to complain about any other stuff, I like to live and let live, people like different things, I just hope it does not go too far, to be honest I don't really know how far that is :-))) Very interesting posting Dave. Pat x

This is my second try, I just spent ten mins on a reply & got kicked off when I tried to add message. Now I've got to remember what I wrote. Hi Dave, I hope your concerns aren't in response to my saying on a thread the other day that some jokes go a little far for me. I'm not offended by them, they just don't interest me & I am perfectly capable of deciding whether I want to read a thread or not. You get a lot of response to your threads so they must be welcomed by the majority & why should the majority bow down to the minority. There is far too much of that in real life. Keep up the good work, cheering everyone up & maybe one day when I'm feeling daft I might find I enjoy the jokes too. Vivienne

hi dave i love your threads ! am sorry i missed the one last night too ! i agree- maybe a little warning on the title is a good idea. peeps are warned- then they cannot complain if they do not like what they read . keep up the good work- a little bit of fun goes a long way, sue. xxx

Dave I think everyone on here is a consenting adult surely and that if you read a thread and don't like what you see you take your little mouse and click on the 'X' top right. If I'm wrong - hands up all you 12 year olds - sign below!! Anna

Thank you everybody just come back but must admit I dont understand the Dross thing that Gray mentioned and Paul highlighted have I missed something that as since been deleted? Most of us are adults and I hate personel attack I think I have proved that many times in the past when I have jumped in to anybody who is under verbal attacks assistance.I like fun but would not think of trying to belittle anybody.I have made mistakes on here and paid for them but anybody I have upset will find that I will apologise unreservedly if they think I have hurt them. Unfortunatly not all of you will accept my apologies I have found, but that doesnt mean I dont mean them. This is a very interesting thread with lots of views which I hope we can all learn off. Davexx ps Vivienne Linen lady No it is not in response to your comments the other day they were valid ones, Dxxxx

Dave, I tried a few times yesterday to add to this thread, and would hate you to think I was ignoring such an interesting topic. As usual I'm like the cow's tail and everyone has beaten me to the post. Gray summed it up perfectly. I like a laugh and a joke as much as the next person, and we're all quite capable of choosing what we want to read or not as the case may be. Your threads are always of interest, whether it be the 'fancy dress' - a chance to let off steam and have a laugh, or something slightly more serious that concerns us all. This site has been a lifeline to me in recent months, and I appreciate everyones support. M x
