Not read any of the books or seen the films. Love a good sci-fi or horror film but for some strange reason Harry Potter does not appeal to me. Maureen

I've seen 2 out of the 3 films, which were ok but not mad about them. Haven't felt the inclination to see what the books are like. If you haven't done so, check out my thread from earlier today if you like the sound of a Harry Potter extract done in the style of Scooby Doo, Eastenders, Enid Blyton, Dr Seuss to name a few.

Hi Jenny Can I join your gang? I have never read any of the books & don't see that I will -the topics just don't interest me. Never seen or read any of the Lord of the Rings either. Thanks to the power of advertising my 5 year old has got into the Star Wars characters although he hasn't seen any of the films either!! We are off tomorrow to buy an R2D2 with his birthday money! i havent read them either jenny!! seen the first film and thought it was quite good tho...but fraid i didnt take an interest in any more!!! Elliot loves them tho!!

Oh!! thank goodness I am not an outsider. I was getting rather worried. Thank you all for putting my mind at rest. I do like to read, I am one of those that does not read for three months. Then will get back into reading and read three books in a week. I am not into Science Fiction. Space films, Fantasy etc. I just love Ghost Stories, that really do ring true, also any author that portrays life in the 1700 and 1800's. I have recently waded through Wilkie Collins, The White Lady. It has taken me ages to read it though. Jenny x

Hi Jenny I have never been remotely interested in reading any HP books - I think my son might have read one or two although they weren't out when he was younger. Anything that gets kids reading is fine by me, but I prefer something I can relate to. Have just read Footloose - which makes me want to be 18 again or do a Shirley Valentine. If only....

Hi can I join the club - I haven't read or seen Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings or any of the star wars movies. I don't feel that I have missed out on anything, even though my young nieces and nephews are lined up this morning to get the latest copy. (3 mins to go until 9.00am when it will sold) judy

I love them Jenny and have just been and collected mine. Gaynor Bear queued very nicely for hers, which I shall send to you for safe keeping. For anyone that doesn't know, Gaynor was a manic Harry Potter fan! I didn't really expect to like them when I first read them but became well and truly hooked. We took the fourth book on holiday with us 5 years ago and it had 4 book marks in it. As soon as one of us put it down another one of us picked it up! Daisy

Oh Anna that's a lovely image! I just love it when children read and tucking them up when they've fallen asleep reading is so sweet. Ellie still has a couple of the earlier ones to read and our teenagers are both away so Chris and I will be fighting over this one - am going to hide it now! lol Daisy

Can I ask for a 'reason'????? If you've not read them.........how can you comment? for 1. And hype.............I agree.............but read the books rather than watch the films.................. Isn't it the same with every movie????????? They cover a quarter of the book...........!!!! Please read them........they're very good!! Much more info in them than the films! Get reading people...even if you think you will not like it!!!! It's a kids book.......what's all the fuss about??? READ.......please!!!!!!!!!! Rather than watch!!!!!!!!! Stel.xx
