Edith Piaf singing 'Hymne L'Amour' - trying to drown out the sound of the steam roller just along the road and take my mind off the notice just pushed through the front door of another TEN WEEKS of 'road safety improvements' (i e speed cushions, more intrustive lighting, more signs, etc) to begin on 12th September. We've had gas main repairs going on all through August - now this. When the workmen go home, we get the local Yoof yelling and screaming and riding noisy motorcycles up and down the road until midnight or later. Just off to get Physical Graffiti out and turn up the volume. IS THERE NO PEACE IN THIS LIFE??? CB >|< |

listening to BBC 6 Music - currently playing Shadowlands by Ryan Adams, from the Love Is Hell album. Was listening to 'Set Yourself On Fire' by Canadian male/female duo, 'Stars' on the way into work this morning. Just bought it the other day and it's a fantastic album (if you like dreamy sounding indie pop)....might just be my album of the year! |

Jeanette, If it wasn't for a certain house guest of a pinkish hue here at present, I'd be on my way, believe me! Oh what I wouldn't give to live somewhere quiet! If all I could hear was the wind rustling the trees, birds singng and water flowing, I'd think I was in heaven. Must be lunchtime - the machines have stopped. Now there's some loudmouth on a mobile out in the street and the traffic going by. Never rains, but it pours! CB >|< |

Paul, Have you heard that 'Ooo La La' track by Goldfrapp? Sounds a bit T-Rex-ish. |

CB, Cue sarcastic reply from Jeff? :-) Liked Goldfrapp's first album, 'Felt Mountain', wasn't so keen on the last one. Have seen them live, they've weren't bad, beside she's quite hot anyway ;-) |
