I wouldn't advise doing it as I believe that they do have some force to them. Never done it myself, but I have read too many cases to ever join in. |

About 35 years ago - four of us in bright sunlight in the Boardroom cut out letters of alphabet - used a wine glass - doors locked - I insisted on saying the Lords prayer - the glass took off and spelt out daddy - asked whose - as three of us had lost fathers - Ann's and the message was - stop this evil thing and that was it - never ever again. I tried it with some friends once and it freaked me out a bit - we used a ring instead of a glass and it was moving about the table, but I was a bit sceptical. We had a very garbled message come through and then took our hands away and talked about it, the message wasn't for me and I really wanted to try again - I put one finger on the ring (waiting for the others to join me) and it moved on it's own! It made me jump and I took my finger off - really freaky. I'm sure we could feel something/someone in the room with us. My Husband's family seem to attract spirits - they've all seen ghosts and had strange experiences - and my Husband hates it, I had to promise never to touch a Ouija Board again. If you're gonna have a go then make sure it's with someone who knows what they're doing - you don't want to let in someone bad who won't leave you alone. Kaye x |

When my mum died (over 30 years ago) I was given her watch by my stepdad. Not long after, it stopped and my sister's husband was a watch maker (and repairer). I gave him the watch to have a look at. Almost 2 years later, I still didn't have my watch back after askingfor it many times. Then I did a Oujia board with my step daughter and got a message saying 'Get your watch back from S...' (my sister's name). I said 'she keeps making excuses and won't give it back.' The message then spelled out 'Tell her to give it you, or i will take it'. I said 'How' and the board spelt out ' By force'!! Well this really scared me even though it was (supposedly) my mother. I went to my sister's and told her that I wanted my watch back. She made lots of excuses so I told her mum had said I should get my watch back. She said 'What are you taliking about' so I told her about the Ouja board and she said' What a load of rubbish'. I then told her that mum had said if she didn't give me the watch, she would take it by force. Well, she sent her husband upstairs straight away to get the watch, even though it was in pieces.!! I've never done it since!! Lynne |

Done it a few times, scared s***less ( and that is being very polite) the first time, i was 15, practical joker on that one. Second time we went for it again, got a king farouk(spelling)not to sure about that one, never heard of such a king, if so must have been over 2000 years old, because he never heard of Jesus Christ,he didn't stay too long. On one occasion had the room wrecked, only because one of the others didn't do as they were told which is ALWAYS keep a window open, so the spirits can get out, something i didn't believe until i tried it and it is true. A friend (at the time) had a knife thrown at him, a girl who wanted to know her future, she insisted,so was told not to have kids or she would suffer and she DID SUFFER badly. As for the knife act, (personaly)it should have killed him because it turned out he was a nonce (I AM SORRY IF ANY ONE FEELS OFFENDED BY THAT REMARK). So if you wish to play the otherside, make sure you have a strong spirit, it is not ALL fun and games. Yes i do believe in the hereafter, you don't go through spiritual suffering and not believe. I would still go for it, but most that want to join me think it is a joke, fools are not welcome. Micheal. Just got in from work and shattered. |

The Ouija board is a powerful medium that is used to communicate with the paranormal. Although the board is sold in toy stores, as well as in novelty shops, it should never be considered a toy, because it creates a portal between our world and the next and can result in serious paranormal issues. The Ouija, or the phenomenon of channeling spirits, has been around for centuries but the most common version is the board sold by the Parker Brothers toy company. Curiously, the board is manufactured in Salem, Massachusetts, a town that gained notoriety for other reasons. The term “ouija” comes from the French and German words for yes, “oui” and “ja”. Although most people use the standard Parker Brothers version of the board, anyone can create their own Ouija board by using a variety of materials like a cardboard surface. On the shell of the board are the 26 letters of the alphabet, the numbers one through nine, and the words yes, no, and goodbye. A pointer, often called a planchette, is a wedge-shaped plastic tool with feet that enables users to navigate the board. With a typical Ouija session, two users can sit with the board propped on their knees or on a table. Both users place their fingertips on the planchette on top of the board and begin to ask questions. Typical questions include, “Are there any spirits who are present?” “Is there anything anyone would like to say to us?” The planchette, powered by the strength of the users, but dictated through the board by the spirit entity, begins to slowly move. Answers to questions are spelled out through the board’s alphabet. As the session continues, the planchette appears to move faster. The Ouija board is often used at parties or where large groups of people are gathered, but the consequences of such play are no laughing matter. Most of the time, the Ouija is channeled by curious, but inexperienced people who are looking for harmless entertainment and are not aware of the power of the board. The board has been known to put humans in direct contact with inhuman or demon spirits. There is no guarantee that the users will be channeling with kindred or human spirits. It is believed that the spirits most likely contacted through the Ouija are on the lower astral plane, meaning that they suffered a violent end (murder or suicide) and are confused. Many times inhuman spirits use the board as a method to cross back into the human world. Because the board is a portal and enables humans to communicate with those beyond this world, the Ouija opens up a doorway for spirits to enter and many times the results are frightening. During a Ouija session, a spirit might ask if he or she can “enter”. This means that the spirit is asking permission to come through to the human world. When users of the board agree to allow the spirit entrance, they are enabling the entity to open a doorway and enter the physical world. Even when the game is packed up and put away, the spirit will continue to stay on and can wreak havoc on those who played with the board. Those who play with the board for extended periods of time face the risk of becoming possessed by the demon spirits. People often use the Ouija to contact a beloved, deceased relative or a dear friend who has passed away in an attempt to determine if they are in a better place. The spirit entities that come through the Ouija will pretend to be anyone that the user wants them to be strictly for the use of gaining entrance into the human world. Spirit entities lie so that they can come through the portal of the Ouija. Simply putting the board away does not mean the menacing spirit has left. The entity can stay on for years and it is difficult to convince it to leave. In controlled situations, the Ouija is used with a psychic or medium to supervise the channeling. When the medium suspects danger, all channeling can be immediately stopped. In addition to contacting spirits, the Ouija has another disadvantage. Some people become very attached to the board and will spend hours at a time alone attempting to retrieve information about the future and their lives from it. Such individuals may be unable to make decisions on their own without first consulting the Ouija. South Jersey Paranormal Research (the group I belong to)does not encourage the use of the Ouija board to contact spirits. We have found too often that amateur users playing with the Ouija for fun end up involved with malevolent spirit entities that they allowed to enter through the board’s portal. Judy |

A friend and I did did one about 10 years ago, we got all set up and began. The glass moved after a few minutes and we were so scared we stopped immediately and left the house! We felt a bit daft and went back in and found the glass smashed on the kitchen floor (we had been in the dining room) then we were really scared! I took it as a message from someone not to mess with this again and never have and never will! Sarah x |

this subject is one of the reasons i am on this site, then i got interested in my origins. this is a true story and is still ongoing, and i`m still not convinced i`m a believer. in 1984 a group of 5 or 6 of us did a home made ouija board we were all in are late teens,we all believed that someone on the table moved the glass to spell one name.that name was sidney. no one knew a sidney and one of us asked could it be sidney australia but i said that is a y not an i. i passed off as a prank until the last couple of years. in 2002 i had a breakdown after a family split, mainly worried about my children.very shortly after our split the children were introduced to a man they only knew as sid he was old and loaded,he told the children on their first aquantance that he was going to smash their f... dad`s face in,he is marrying their mum and going to take their dad`s place, the mother did say no your not ,he said yes i am i`m the one with the money, they told the children he was an ex-policeman his dying of cancer with only 3/4 years to live.i started researching this man firstly by private detective`s but these proved very expensive, but what they gave me and what i found out later. his name was sidney and was using two different surnames and two different dates of birth.he was doing the finances for an elderly gentleman who had cerebal palsey who has since died,my ex was a carer. i started court proceedings, but started having heavy pains in my head, mainly due to working long hours, funny phone calls throughout the night, car smashed twice, childrens bedroom window put through, and then being told children were not mine.after weeks of this i ended up in hospital which ended any real chance of protecting my children through the system. when i came out of hospital my ex dropped the children off and the only thing she said was do you believe in life after death, and the past is the past get on with your life.their are many other twists and turns on other things that i won`t bore you with. but i started looking back at my life racking my brain when i got back to this ouiji board thing we did,i tried tracing the people i did it with,2 have died young one in the 1980`s the other in 1991. i then sent for marriage ,birth and his childrens certs, one in 1995 is very odd and may be the way he changed his identitie, but on the others his father was spelt sidney but on others spelt sydney.and then on the sidney i`m looking at on his childrens birth cert father spelt sydney but on his birth and marriage certs spelt sidney.i`m still trying to trace the others on ouiji to see how their lives have turned out. am i a believer i`m not sure till finished research, but suggest you stay well clear. derek |
