Squeeze Gut Alley, Whitstable Smack Alley, Faversham High Street Road, High Street, Dargate, Kent Avenue Road, Caterham, Surrey Square Hill Road, Maidstone. Our Road used to be called Hangman’s Lane as the town gallows were on the green at the bottom. There was also a Hangman’s Lane in Rochester. In Seasalter there used to be a Cut Throat Lane. David |

I know it's childish of me but I always titter when we go past Balls Lane on the way to Mansfield. I did envy a friend though who used to live at 'The Tryst', Lover Lane. I thought it was a great address but she hated it. Obviously not a romantic:)) Chrissie x |

There's a road near me so dull they named it twice to make it seem interesting. It is called Green Street Green Road. (Actually I think it leads to a village called Green Street Green, which is a pretty stupid name for a village!) Carole |

In Sussex a small narrow lane is sometimes called a twitten. I loved writing that on the address label, when our son lived in Lewes. |

I've always smiled as I go past Prune Park Lane near Bradford. In our village is Cat 'Ol where the villagers could gain access to the brook. I read somewhere the Cat part started as Norse Garta (road), same as the York Gates. |
