Following yesterdays fur wearing discussion, which I found extremely interesting........ Here's another controversial question.... There have been a couple of films made about that football team whose aeroplane crashed in the Andes. In those circumstances where your only other option is to starve to death..... would you eat the flesh of other dead human beings? |

No...... I am 99.9% sure I wouldn't cos if I was rescued I don't think I would be able to live with myself afterwards. But who knows unless you are actually in that position and desparate. Gaynor |

I would find the thought of eating human flesh repulsive, but if it came down to survival i suppose i would do whatever i had to - hopefully i wont ever be in that position. |

I think the mental problems suffered by people who have done this shows that it is not right, If you are in a situation were there is no food and only'Human flesh' to eat you are defying nature and therefore should not be alive, unfortunatly your time has come, to survive on human flesh is against nature, you are de-humanising yourself!! |

No, I wouldn't....but once I'm dead the thought someone might want me for lunch doesn't bother me. Heather |

Roxanne, thats a fair enough point but i also think that when people are put in extreme situations the will to survive can take over completely and they will do whatever to live. Rational thought probably doesnt come into it and if that means 'de-humanising' yourself you would probably do it and face the consequences later. I am not saying that it is right in any way, but who knows what they would do if faced with the same circumstances. |

Heather. I agree with you, When Im dead, eat me if you wish to survive. Id be happy knowing that Id saved a life. as said Until you are in that situation, you have no idea how strong your will to survive is. Elaine x |

Chilling thought isn't it? 'There but for the grace of God' .... and all that. I feel sure at the moment that I wouldn't do it because the thought is repulsive and I couldn't live with it knowing what I'd done, but as most here say.... in desparation, the survival instinct tends to take over I believe. Let's pray none of us ever need to find out. |

Me too............ just lost nearly 6 stone so there's not much of me now either lol What it is... and I know it's a bit silly really, but it has something to do with religion I think, I'm not a practicing religious person, don't go to church or anything but I do have like a base line religion for want of a better way to put it. Something inside me tells me it isn't right.... and that's all there is to it. Strange.......... I know, but there it is. Gaynor |
