Tescos. I was bending over to get dogfood when this man with a stick tripped over my leg, somehow, and landed on the floor screaming! I called Security, got him a glass of water and offered to take him to the hospital (nearby). He just shouted at me and said it was my fault. He also told me he had a prosthetic leg. I am mortified! What a shock for him, and for you, and how embarrassing for you too. He obviously wasn't looking where he was going and blamed you because he was embarrassed. It was an accident and you did all you could for him. Ann Glos |

Well don't be BC, it was an accident....as for leg.....doesn't give him the right to be nasty when you were sorry and tried to help. Five people in my family (close) have had legs off, and it is no exscuse to be horrible......they weren't in fact called my aunt Hoppy XXXX |

Either he was having a bad day, or he's another one of those 'nasty little men' we seem to be encountering a lot of recently. Buttercup - if it wasn't your fault you have done nothing wrong. Relax. |

Blimey BC, that smacks of him not looking where he was going. Sounds as if his dignity's dented more than anything else, and I'll bet you're not the first to have 'been in his way'. Chin up. x |

Buttercup, if he was watching where he was going he wouldn't have tripped would he? You did all you could by apologising and trying to help so don't beat yourself up over it! Julie xxx |

Poor BC here sit down put your feet up & have a cuppa. Don't worry that nasty man must have been ok to be shouting at you like that, he was very naughty. I hope as you feel sorry for yourself he feels very annoyed with himself. ;-))) Pat x |

*sniffs...thanks Pat, no sugar and very little milk. Any M & S chocolate ginger biscuits? I am fine now. I think he hurt his wrist but would not go to the hospital. I was just on the way back from the hospital myself, with some good news, so maybe I was not being as careful as I should. Hope you are doing fine, my friend. Am going to Dublin for Christmas, will wave your way! lol BC XXX |

BC I'm sure you did all you could. Don't feel bad. I have dealt with a lot of elderly people that are infirm and some (not all) seem to think that the world owes them something for their afflictions. They can get quite nasty and blame other people. Ask anyone who works in a nursing home. Most elderly are lovely but then you get ones like you encountered today that are just plain nasty. He was the one that tripped over you. try and have a good day don't let it worry you Regards Jackie |
