When a similar thing happened to me (cyclist riding on the pavement, he braked to avoid me as I came out of our office and went over the handlebars), I simply said 'You didn't mean to do that, did you' and left him to sort himself out! |

That was a very unfortunate accident, BC, and you couldn't be blamed for it. If there is any blame to be levied, then it was the man's fault for not taking sufficient care where he was walking, but there was no way you could have killed him. I hope you've recovered from the shock, and I hope the man has too. You did all you could, once you realised what had happened, so your conscience should be clear. Festive Flutterby >*|*< X |
