My great grandad, who had a French name but bought an Englishman's name and served in the Australian navy using this other man's name!! But they named their three names with the French surname and they were all buried with the French name!! The mystery around this is fascinating. Have a good one Julie |

Mine would e the birth or baptism of either (or both) Sainthill Lindsey/ Elizabeth Frances Hooper, who married in 1791 at St Geo. in the East. Just cannot find them or their parents before then. O and of course the Irish fullstop, - the marriage between John Kearns and Frances ?, probably in Kilkenny @ 1790's, but................ How very greedy that is! Maybe - I should offer more 1837 look-ups as a penance. Rosi |

My two maternal great-grandfathers: 1. Richard Mellon, no birth certificate, no father on census, don't know where he was born, rumoured to be German. 2. Albert Goodge, no one in the family knows anything about him, could come from anywhere, waiting for 1911 census to find him. also desperate to find a birth for Mary Kate Evans, c1864, Luton. Several but musn't be greedy. Used to be my g uncle Anthony Robinson but I've filled in several gaps in his life thanks to the discovery of a distant living relative. Really would like to know more about my paternal grandfather Sidney Robinson (above Anthony's brother) who died in 1933 when my Dad was just 2. We know virtually nothing about him and I know my Dad would love to be able to fill in the missing pieces. My Dad didn't even know that he had aunts and uncles, or the names of his grandparents until I found them out for him. The other one puzzling me most is another Anthony Robinson born c1742 - need to take a look at some parish records soon I think. Daisy |

I don't know about a person, but I would love someone to provide me with evidence of my great grandmother Sarah Sowle's ( b 1825)marriage to Edmund Sanders. IF her son, my granddad was a bastard, does that make me one too? len |

I would like to find my great x 3 Grandad, George Tate. I have so much information about him and his family. He died on December 20th (my sons birthday) in 1844. Have found his grave and know which pub he ran, but because he died between 1841 and 1851 don't know where he was born so can get no further back. Just waiting for that stroke of luck that I hope will come sometime. Would also like to find one set of great grandparents. My grandad was illegitimate, so that's another dead end for me. Maggy |
