I remember the very first one I read and that was Mr Galliano's circus. We read in in class when I was about 7 and I just found it amazing! My little boy loved it too, which was great. Although I have to say, it loses it's magic a bit when you get older lol! I've probably read 200 plus books of Enid Blyton, I used to get a few every week to read, and read all the Famous 5, Secret 7, Adventurous 4, Five Finder Outers & a Dog, The Mystery ofs, the Adventure Books, The Secret of .... you name it lol. |

Rosie, I loved the Castle of Advenure too, I think my fave Adventure book was the Valley of Adventure though, I think that's the one where they all found this massive cave to stay in! It was pure magic in those days. No TV, just books and playing out. (well I watched Rainbow on a lunchtime!). |

I enjoyed some about the Long Mynd area. I think tiltles included Lone Pine 5 and Seven White Gates, but cannot remember the author. There was one broadcast on Children's Hour and I missed the last episode and still do not know how it ended. |

Golly! Yes I remember the Famous 5...read them over and over and over...lashings of ginger beer and there was always a train/secret tunnel to explore. I remember going to the library a lot in those days, no money to just go out and buy books. Birthdays and Christmas I always got a nice book from my uncle...still have them...Black Beauty, Little Women, The Little Tin Soldier, I've lost track of the amount of times I've read them. Other favourites were Mallory Towers, Secret 7, and the Katy series, ie What Katy Did, etc. |
