Yes … :-) And it was in rootschat that someone saw my post about my great-great-uncle William McCusker, remembered it years later when he saw his birth registration and contacted me about it. So that is one reason why I do not delete posts /threads.

I use the site but be warned that your personal profile and postings will show up with a google search of your screen name so don't give away too much personal information. The county boards are very good for links and they notify you if someone has replied to one of your threads which is very useful. I left messages on the Australian and New Zealand board about some relatives who had emigrated and someone looked up all their children's baptisms for me that night. The surname interest table is very user friendly as well. I Anne

I will look out for you. Glad you are in. The surname interest table takes a bit of finding but there is a link at the bottom of the home page. Anne

I have never posted on there but quite often go into the chat and ask for help and it seems to be given straight away. Saves hanging around like the threads on here if yo are desperate to find something LOL But I am grateful to the people on here for their time and effort.

I bounce between the two! With Firefox you can have as many tabs open as you want. Means I spend my time running round like a headless chicken - just like in real life!

Just had a reply on Rootsweb. He lives round the corner from where my mum was born and as its stopped raining, he's going to pop round and have a look for me. I never even thought the place would still be there. Got to make a cup of tea I think.

Found the people there very helpfull. That makes me respond in kind and I have been able to help out a few times. You will find me in the W. Yorks section most of the time. P.S. If you have an old photo that needs attention have a look at the photo restoration section. Dave the tyke
