Sometimes when adding a thread, people misunderstand what you have written, and take things the wrong way.( Shame really ).then when you take the time or trouble to explain, they still don't understand. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. |

Unfortunately people do take things wrong...... Tis only because you're typing and not saying most of the time. The answers to the threads ......I suggest.....you read more than once.......and read in a positive way first. Just my opinion is all.......if not sure......ask! xx |

In a face-to-face conversation, only about 10% of the communication is verbal, the rest being by body language and facial expression. You have about 200 muscles in your face that have no other purpose than to control expression and convey feelings. So it's not surprising that printed words cannot carry the full meaning of the writer. Solicitors are best at it. Those who are worst at it are the ones who are not skilled in syntax and grammar not to mention punctuation. len |

i tried to explain myself and how it had been misread, that wasn't good enough, they carry it on today. My thread yest was about us all getting on life is too short, and too many people suffering, can we be one big happy family. some people won't be bothered by this....... they took this personally. How silly i'm hardly going to put a thread on saying lets be one big happy family, if i was directing it at certain members am i? I give up. Like i said i tried to explain that was not good enough. |

It really is a shame i have found some wonderful people on here, |

(((hugs)))) Val, havnt read any of your threads but i am glad you found some good people on here. I agree that things can be misunderstood, words sound different in the writers head than the readers, if one person is in a good mood it can sound light hearted and funny however if another person reads the same who is streesed or angry it can sound nasty or hostile So yes please do read threads after writing them to make sure they read ok...but also please please if you read a thread that sounds nasty, first check if it is your mood that is influencing the way you are reading it i have fallen fowl of this myself and taken offence of something because i read it in my voice rather than the way it was intended lol But most of all (and i will shut up after i have finished this honset) i just want to say, most people on GR are lovely, kind, generous people always ready to help, listen, cheer up others and have a laugh, keep up the good work |

you can go on and on explaining yourself that it was taken the wrong way, they still won't have it. If i was them, and they said i had read it wrongly, then i would except that and move on, but that's not the case for some, they like to carry on. |

Hi all, I totally agree with what's been said by everyone. When we communicate face to face it's much easier and when we make a verbal 'boo boo' it's mostly accepted if we clarify it. Yet when it's in print ppl are given the third degree and it's not forgotten very quickly even if they have been misunderstood. Like Stelly I always try to read positively.....life's too short to get into cyber-conflicts! Have a great day, wherever you are! Aileenxxx |

Good Morning Valerie, Some times you just have to accept that some people can't see the wood for the trees and once their minds are made up that's it. Don't let it upset you... you know what you meant. Have a good day. Jean x. |
