Morning... I had a colonoscopy on Tuesday... The stuff you have to drink the day before was the hardest part....I was put to sleep so didn't know anything about it. It'll be fine....you'll be more anxious than you need to be which is Natural. All the best.:)xx

Jules This is not a colonoscopy - it's a colposcopy which is the next stage from abnormal smear tests. I have had a colonoscopy tho - not very pleasant as you say

I've had this done, there is nothing to it, just embarrassing, as some one has already said, it also means yearly smears for 5 years, Tricia

Deanna Report 2 Sep 2006 11:54

I had one 21 years ago after abnormal results after my youngest child was born. I watched it all on the monitor - amazing for sqeamish little old me! I found it fascinating, it just looked like the inside of someones mouth!!!! I remember a few stomach cramps afterwards, but nothing major. I then had laser treatment a bit later and since then all has been fine. Good luck :o) Sue xx

had one a few years ago. My appointment was at the beginning of January so had to fret all over christmas waiting. Think the worse bit is they give you a tv screen to look at and it makes it all look worse than it is. No real pain maybe just a stinging but looking on the screen looks awful . So if you are squeamish just shut your eyes lay back and relax!!!!

Deanna, I didn't have the sleep option when I had a colonoscopy a few years ago either! They just stuck a tube up my nose and I had to swallow it, then they fed it through my stomach down to my colon. Yeuk!!! Then they poured all this white stuff down the tube. It was revolting and even more so afterwards if you know what I mean!!! I got home just in time. Hope everything goes ok for you Anne!!! Big hugs to you!!!! Carol x
