Don't forget we have a book club on this board. See below. Ann Glos

AnninGlos Report 29 Dec 2006 16:17

Each month we each put forward the titles of two ordinary books - fiction or non fiction - that we want to read plus one classic title. We then vote for two ordinary and one classic. We read as many of the chosen books as we can manage, then at the end of the month, on a given date, we review the books that we have read. (i.e. we say if we enjoyed them, if there was anything special about thm etc, nothing highbrow or complicated). Our book club is called GReaders and if you put this into the search box it will bring up all the previous threads so that you can see what we do. Our next review and book suggestion threads are due on Wednesday 3 January. 07 We could do with new people joining us as our numbers have got a bit depleted lately so please join us. Ann Glos

If you're reading this, please consider joining GReaders! I ummmed and arrred about joining as I thought it might be a bit highbrow for me....not being the sharpest tack in the box! lol. But it's not like that at all. Everyone is really friendly and we've read some fantastic books over the last few months. What I've enjoyed about being part of GReaders is that it has introduced me to a whole range of books that I wouldn't have otherwise read. Also I've been chatting with a few different members whom I might not have had any contact with had I not joined in. Jeanette x

thanks for that Jeanette, yes I agree, I too have read books I wouldn't have considered reading, even after the month for reading them, once I have read the review. In fact yesterday I got Small Island which I didn't read when it was the monthly book but the reviews make me want to read it. Ann Glos

I love reading but don't get much time with two jobs and housework at the weekend. Plus my love of hill and mountain walking takes me away from the books on a Sunday. But I read on the bus to work and 10mins before bed. The one I could recommend for you lovely ladies is - P.S. I Love You, excellent couldn't put it down. Currently reading Jeffrey Archer's Prodigal Daughter hard to get into though. Tx

AnninGlos Report 29 Dec 2006 17:31

You could join us and read just one of the selection on the bus, it doesn't matter if the review is done on time or later. Yes I have read PS I Love you, a real tear jerker that one. Ann Glos

Hi Jill If you nominate one of your unread books it may well get chosen and then the rest of us will have to get it from the library! lol. And there's always Amazon.....not sure what the cost of postage would be though It will be nice to have you on board Jeanette x

Jacqui, we always like input so you will be very welcome. There is a thread Greaders review of books read in last 2 months. you could add your reviews to that thread for us. I would be interested in your review of the Da Vinci Code as I have just read it (but not written a review on it). Ann glos

I think you probably don't have time if you are working Caz, but you could give it a go one month and just read one of the books. Ann Glos
