yes Ann of course, that's what I was thinking of! I know Dave has made a few suggestions from time to time, but none of the men (apart from Mike) have ever joined in. Perhaps you should add 'men needed' to the title lol !! Maz. XX |

I love reading and would like to join you. A good new year's resolution to read at least one classic a month. I have just read 'travels with a tangerine' by Macintosh Smith It is an absolutely fascinating book . The author tries to retrace the travels of an Islamic equivalent of Marco Polo and deals with the medieval world from the other side as it were. Incidently the tangerine refers to someone from Tangiers rather than an orange. Anne |

Hi, I love reading and would like to join but have just got 13 books for Christmas, 8 by same author (Tess Gerritson) so can't really justify getting any others at the moment! Will look in on Weds and see whats happening though, Dawn |

I would like to join too though may well not get 3 books read each month. I've looked though the GR readers threads a few times and even got as far as getting the occasional titles from the library to read along with you. As it's a new year I'll take the plunge and 'sign up' officially if I may. Kate |

I had 6 books for Christmas and now have had to re- organise all my shelves to accommodate them. I have approximately 80 books here waiting to be read. It is going to take a while ggiven that we will have all the book club books as well! I read 100 books last year so don't hold out too much hope of reading this lot. Good job I have a 4 week holiday booked. guess it is throw out the clothes and pack the books! Ann glos |

I know what you mean Dee. I had a right good clear out of my bookshelf not so long ago and donated the books to family and friends. Now it's just as bad again! |

tina, You are very welcome to join us. Look out for the Greaders threads on Wednesday. Don't worry if a suggested book sounds different to what you normally read, get it from the library and give it a go. We have all given up on books and put in the review thread why we didn't finish them. And Maz is right, she and I have very different tastes in books. You will just need to put up to two ordinary books and one classic on the suggestions thread. So put books by authors that you like. if you have read all this thread you will have found a list of some of the books read and will see that we did, in fact, read one by Anne Baker. If you put Greaders into the search box you will find all the reviews we have done. Our classics vary from true classics to books like Cider with Rosie and Daphne Du Maurier. By the way I used to live not so far from Hitchin (Clifton, Beds). from 1982 until 1992 so know Hitchin fairly well. Still have good friends in letchworth. Ann Glos |
