This is a poem written by by youngest son. A lot of you have seen it but with Anzac Day coming up I thought I would put it up again

Love Donna

The Soldier Darkness all around me Death is not too far I’m far away from home And fighting in the war I’ve seen my brothers’ fall The Enemy is near I think about my Country And remember why I’m here I can hear the cannons fire The explosions are so loud A bomb strikes really close Although I hear no sound A gunshot breaks the silence I get knocked back with force I’ve been hit in the chest By a bullet on it’s course As I’m breathing my last breaths And I’m really close to death I think of what I’ve done I’ve done my very best I’ll never be forgotten Like the soldiers that fought beside me I’m dying for my country My Home, My Land, Aussie

Proud doesn't even come in to it. The RSL are going to publish it for Anzac Day. I couldn't believe it when I read it and it brought a few tears to my eyes. I love him to bits. Donna

Yes I am proud. I was even prouder when the RSL said that they will put it in a newsletter or on their website. Not bad for an ex-pom eh? He has written lots of stories and is very clever - takes after me obviously LOL. Thanks for your kind words, I will pass them on to Zacky Wacky. Loadsa love Donna

That's good now because it used to be Zacky Wacky Woo - Still call him Wacky at times. LOL

Donna he certainly is a clever boy and you should be very very proud , Tell him to keep it up we would like to see some more what does his English teacher say about it I bet she was thrilled too , congrats to both you and Zac , Lara

Lara His teacher hasn't said a word about it yet. He wrote it before the easter hols and he handed it in and still nothing been said. It is bad really when it is so good. Love Donna
