I think girlfriend and boyfriend sound odd for people over 50.

Husband or should I call him ex as we are still officially married has a lady friend... They do not live together but have been an item for over 10 years, doubt whether he calls her his girlfriend.... She is far from being a girl :-D

I address my wife as "my little treasure"...

The reason being, because my friends used to ask, "Where on earth did you dig her up from".

This is one I don't like. Love child, used to indicate that a child is born outside wedlock, so does that mean children born inside wedlock are not loved???!

Sorry I`m afraid I quite like the words "Love Child" for a child born out of wedlock. The alternative terminology for a child born out of wedlock sounds so profoundly damning. `twas probably coined by the church you find it used a lot in church records. :-0

We have been together nearly four (broken mirrors!), I am single and so is he, in fact I have no next of kin.

He is my partner and I am not, as I have corrected him for telling people, his ladyfriend.

Allan, I sometimes refer to OH as my 'current husband' especially if he's being cheeky!! If he ever called me 'the wife', like some 'object' I think there would be a divorce. I have heard him refer to me as 'my good lady' or 'the boss' which I don't mind. :-)

Allan Report 4 Aug 2014 23:35

Annx If I DID call my wife 'the wife' or 'the missus' there would be no divorce, but there would be a very slow and very agonising death....mine! :-0 :-D :-D :-D
