My conscience is clear.


I asked a question

I proposed a solution.


I want to see an end of the harassment and bullying that is once again becoming rife on this Board.

The way to do that is to ...........


a) ignore the person who is causing "you" trouble

b) not to retaliate or respond to any comments or digs by that other person

c) get everyone to look at themselves and ask themselves honestly, "am I harassing or bullying?"


I was accused last year of bullying ................... I took that clear look at myself, and decided, no I was not bullying, but I was responding forcefully to someone who was going after me.

I solved my problem by learning to ignore that person. Boy, did they get upset and frustrated when they could no longer get a rise out of me ........ or get their jollies by reporting me time and time again. :-D


There are people on this Board who I have seen bullying and harassing others ........... not just one other person, but time and time again.

They seem unable to recognise what they are doing.


Every time there is a "gang up" against someone, that is bullying and harassment.

It seems to occur time and time again .............. and is very off-putting to newbies

I know that, because I was put off this Board for many years because of the treatment of others that I kept seeing. It was only as I got the strength to stand up for myself ................... and to learn who to ignore ............. that I began to post on here.


There are many threads I do not read

There are people who I know will upset me if I read their threads, or who post threads that I know I do not want to read.

So, I ignore them ........ and selectively pick and choose threads that are possibly interesting to me.

Sylvia if you really think this is the thread that's up set Mersey
why not go with your conscience and remove it

but then again maybe its not this one at all :-( :-(

I am so sorry these boards have come to this.

I have been a member for 9 years and had a lot of help in various ways,someone on the fence to unload problems to when you can't involve family..tips..news..etc

..very often when my OH was alive I would relate something newsworthy and he'd say where did you read that.....GR of course!

We have had more fun threads in recent times,which is good...but a lot of these are trying to outdo each other and the result is such childish behaviour.

Seems no one can have a debate with differing opinions.

This is not the site it used to be.I don't know what has been going on with relationships etc,nor do I want to,but can we not get the boards back to a sensible adult place. :-(

I too miss Eldrick - he was so eloquent - I just loved his stories

this is not the first time dirty linens been shot about on GR

I agree that peole should be warned in such cases ............... then it is up to them after that


But, really, honestly .................... should it all be carried out on a public forum, which gets onto Google faster than one can blink??



and it scares off newbies when they see what appears to be harassment and bullying.

Not to mention potentially libellous statements!



There really is too much bullying and harassment on this Board .................. there always has been, and I'm sure there always will be.


Some of us get fed up with seeing it, and just have to speak up.

I come back to my OP ....................

........... why not just ignore the other person, why keep falling for the jab???


I admit I did it last year

and got myself more and more worked up.


I finally managed to stop reading the posts, and ignored that person



it works much much better than continually posting to them!



I felt much better ....................


and they got frustrated :-D.

I think if somebody is a serial predator

then others should be warned

Please tell him there are some of us that miss him when you next speak to him Hayley. ;-) I still think it was awful the way he went.

He (Eldrick) has a very deep knowledge of Christianity and knows how to argue against it. Better than some of the really clever clods like Dawkins, in my view. That was what I appreciated. Cynthia similarly - though for, not against.

So with my knowledge (which is probably about same level as you, Hayley) I was able to sit back and watch some very clever debating - and occasionally stick my oar in. It used to get a big audience and a lot of steamy posts.

Although Eldrick was and still is my very good friend, and although I may not be devoted as Cythia and John are, I am still very much a believer and I call myself a christian, but you know for all the years I have known Eldrick, he and I have never had a conversation debate or disagreed faith. :-D

Be careful, you might get Gary Glitter he was the leader of the gang. !!!!!!

I think some of the best threads were when Cynthia and Eldrick ..
