Mole in 'Wind in the Willows'. I love the river, and would have loved to have had Ratty as my friend, although I think he would have intimidated me a bit!!!!! |

chris my grandmother gave me A Peep behind the scenes many years ago and I too cried. Btw your picture reminds me of my grandmother so much, i had to do a double take when i first saw it! |

I think my favourites were the Arthur Ransome series, although I also enjoyed many of the others mentioned. I had forgotten "The Wind on the Moon" which I liked and the "Lone Pine" books, which I didn't. |
