I think that my brother beats all your skip rescues,he was passing a newly built house and noticed a beautiful solid wood conservatory in a skip on the drive. He called in to ask permission to rescue it,the owner was only too pleased as he was building a plastic one instead.

Brother is a builder by trade so had no trouble fitting the said conservatory to his own house,and very handsome it is.

found my missus on a 175 bus to Chrisp street market (she worked there)

in 1956
