My grandad did and cariied it from south London to north london coz they wouldnt let him on the underground with it then kept it for 35 years .....then he died and we found it in his cellar ........

My cousin took it home and used it

it was a seven foot plank of wood!

My cousin used it as a gang plank to his house boat

I was going to say, be careful, it is the property of the owner of the skip and if caught you can be charged with theft.

Wend Report 17 Aug 2012 22:43

I feel naturally drawn to skips - think it might be due to the fact that I come from a long line of general dealers on my paternal grandmother's side and bricklayers on my maternal grandmother's side. Love rummaging around in rubbish to see what I can find and always pinch a few bricks if I see them - SO useful in the garden. 'im Indoors despairs of me :-D

Mersey Report 17 Aug 2012 22:44

I once rescued a garden Gnome from a skip , I tried to to walk on past it but he looked so sad and forlorn that I felt compelled to save him . I took him home , re-painted him and named him " Skipper Crumbly " ( as he was a bit pitted and flaky ) .
I have absolutely no idea where he has gone now , ( it was years ago that I rescued him ) . I wonder where he is ?

Mersey

Mersey Report 17 Aug 2012 23:01
