I didn't see it Rose, but saw references to it - and misread it as 'talbothound' :-D (which I think is a now extinct breed of hunting dog!)

I was very suspicious of FB but am now a devotee and am to be found there daily.

I use a pseudonym as I don't wish to be contacted by all and sundry.

My privacy settings are secure.

I have a small select group of friends - mainly from on here and family.

It's great fun if used properly.

My dirty laundry is washed in my washing machine.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I don't often look in on facebook as all I ever seem to see is either people posting sickening smarmy lovey dovey tripe, where repliers are saying how lovely the poster is......or bloody stupid games which makes the mind boggle.
things like "I have a pretty peach tree for your garden, or a cabbage for your farm", whats that all about :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D.
I always thought it was meant to be a place where people chat, I expect I'm wrong :-) :-) still it makes them happy, or does it.? ;-) ;-)

George :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

facebook to me is like a very public CV..
Some people collect 'friends' like stamps. some actually argue with their closest family on this darned site.
I joined and never use it but I was once invited to a BBQ
Was a bit confused as the person inviting me lived well over 200 miles away until I was told it was a 'virtual' BBQ?
WTF is a virtual BBQ ?
:-S

Rambling

Rambling Report 6 Aug 2012 21:18

Neubie, a virtual barbecue would at least be non-fattening? :-D :-D

Wend Report 6 Aug 2012 22:50

Facebook is fine, if used with prudence, and a great way to keep in touch with old friends. (No reference to my FB old friend Prue!)

*Whispers*, sorry I just lied again ;-)

Off to have some toast and marmite :-D

Perzactly Ms Brightspark :-D

I never get dodgy offers or see any mucky linen. I think I must be doing something wrong. :-0

Neubie

Neubie Report 6 Aug 2012 23:06

Do people on FB really post every little detail of their life ? Honestly, do some spend all day telling their 'friends' every single thing they have done from the minute they wake up? Can everyone read this?
What is the 'like' thingy and why do you get loads of emails from FB once you have joined ,saying someone you have never met but knows someone you may have spoken to once wants to be your friend?
Why do they want to be my friend ? I don't know them from Adam :-S

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 6 Aug 2012 23:18

And why do people who don't go on FB and don't want to join knock the site and make it out to be the 'devil's tool'. Yes it can be misused - as can this site and others that I go on.

Neubie

Neubie Report 6 Aug 2012 23:27

Possibly Suemaid because people are entitled to ask what all the fuss is about when it is shoved in their face on here and other sites.
Especially relevant when rows overspill from FB and appear on the other sites.
